I have a difficult to fit foot and need for wide toe-box area. These boots in 10.5 W fit me perfectly when no other has. They are light-weight yet extremely comfortable. I have worn them on all day-treks through trails in Iceland (in Summer), and elsewhere and taken then in rain , waded across rivers in them and found them to be 100% waterproof as advertised., keeping my wool socks completely dry. Tread and sole are very rigid giving a strong sense of stability and security when moving in difficult places or terrain. I have had a few boots and tried many much more expensive boots. I got these 2nd hand through Amazon Warehouse for a steal, and they are by far the best boots I have every owned. They are not too hot, they breathe, but they are not insulated, so not free extremely cold climates. I would not venture to think they would be good for that. But for everything I would do that is semi-hard core, they are awesome. After weeks of daily pounding, mud, water rain, snow, ice, rocks and trail, they hardly look the worse for the wear. I did get the Skechers water protector spray for an extra level/barrior of protectant since I was in the rain and water daily with these things.
Looked at lots of boots online before deciding to buy these and I'm very happy with them so far. Great for winter hiking. Not as much insulation as some of the more hardcore winter boots, but I wanted something that would be good for more than just cold snowy winter days. Also a great deal at just over $60. A lot of the other boots I checked out were in the 100-130 range.I've had them for a couple weeks now and they've done great walking the dog, going on hikes in the snow, and shoveling the driveway. I'm surprised at how warm they are. I was out shoveling the driveway with temps in the teens for about an hour and my feet didn't get cold. Not sure how they would do for standing still, but for hiking, outdoor chores etc they have kept my feet warm with just regular socks when I'm moving around.I haven't really tested how waterproof they are. The stay dry inside when the snow melts on the outside but I haven't walked through any water to really test the limits of the waterproof lining.Fit: I wear an 11 in Adidas for reference. The 11s I got were a little bit short. My toes were not right up against the end but pretty close so I went with 11.5. With 11.5 the length was great, enough room so I could wear some thick socks if needed. Maybe a hair wide, but I have narrow feet. About my only criticism is there's not much of an arch. However with the memory foam insoles and break-in process, the bottom is starting to form to the contour of my feet. Will see about reliability. I only use them for walking the dog, outdoor chores and hiking. What I'd consider moderate to light use, and they will most likely be stored away for the warmer months. Hoping I can get a couple years out of them, we shall see....
Works good, looks good, feels good. A couple caveats: there is no insole so they aren't padded really inside. But there is plenty of room for your choice of insole, which is great for me bc I need arch supports and normal boots with built in insoles don't have enough room for em. Also the mid top design is a good all around compromise between lots of ankle support and none at all, but if you do alot of steep hills, the tops will start to dig into your leg above the ankles. Seem plenty durable.
Our grandson wanted these when he saw his Papa’s, and even tried them on! They’re sturdy, comfortable, waterproof and great looking! Papa loves his, and now grandson will be surprised with a pair at Christmas!
My husband wears them everyday to work. He says they are comfortable and keep his feet warm.
We live in the country so need something to wear that's waterproof when walking in the yard or woods. These are of good quality and are waterproof. They are a little snug at first but break in well after 2nd or 3rd wear. I have a large foot for a woman and wear a size 12 in women's shoes. Bought a 10.5 in men's. Love em!
Fit is good. Feels great. Now to see how long the soles last. Had the m for 3 weeks. Don’t walk a lot. Maybe a half mile a day. Heels are starting to wear on outside….
I ordered size 12 of 3 different hiking boots,1 Timberlands 2 Rax hiking boots 3 Sketchers hiking boot. I wear size 12 and the only shoe to fit was the sketcher . This shoe is true to its size and very comfortable water proof and has a nifty memory foam insole but i replaced with a $30 high ark one and the combination made the shoe over powered. I recommend this hiking boot as it’s affordable and high quality. 5 stars all day . I would’ve given it 20 stars if I could but sadly 5 is the max .. Get this shoe if you don’t know what to buy for hiking boot water proof
