This is a review of the Skecher’s Men’s Creston-Slip on shoe.Update (02/22/2021): I’ve been wearing these shoes, in and around the house, every day and all day, and they’re just as comfortable as they were the first time I put them on. They’re so comfortable that I’ve given up wearing my formerly, all-time favorite, slippers altogether..There’s very little wear on the soles, and the uppers still look and feel like new, and I don’t baby them at all.I highly recommend these durable, comfortable, and attractive shoes.Original ReviewI wanted a pair of slip-on shoes that I could easily slide my bare feet into, without having to use a shoehorn, or to further aggravate my perpetually aching back by bending over and sticking one of my too fat fingers down inside the back of the shoe to use as a glide path for my heel to follow. Additionally, I wanted something that was moderately to really comfortable to walk in, with or without stocking feet. Lo-and-behold, these Skecher’s fit the bill perfectly! (Yep, that’s an explanation point, alright.)I had just received a pair of another brand of low-back “garden shoes,” and I found them comfortable enough, but I’m greedy and I wanted more than just “comfortable enough.” And, I had to send the first pair of that other brand back, because it was a full size too big for my foot, even though it said they “fit as expected.” (Maybe they “expected” they’d be too big.). And so, when I the replacements, I ordered the next size down, and that pair did fit comfortably. When I received the Skecher’s Creston’s, I was very pleased to find that Skecher’s men’s size 10 actually was a true size 10. I was able to effortlessly slip my 70-plus-year-old foot right into them; no bending required. The back of these shoe’s are low enough (a little over one inch from cushion to top), to make them easy’on’s and easy-off’s, but high enough that I don’t sound like a galloping horse when I walk around in them. At my age, I make enough strange noises on my own.Walking in these shoes (loafers, garden shoes, clogs, or whatever other names they care to give them), is like walking over a deep pile carpet. I was excited to see that the heavily cushioned footbed is made of something called “memory foam.” I’m not sure what it’s remembering, but I can honestly tell you that they are the most comfortable pair of footwear that I currently own. The last pair of shoes I had that were this comfortable cost me just under $150 a pair. That’s a whole lot more than I paid for these little gems. The main body of these are made out of a very soft “canvas” material, so even when worn without socks, they don’t chafe the tops of your feet. (This canvas is nothing like anything the Army ever issued me.) Starting around the mid-point of the shoe, the material overlapping the top lip is suede, just behind the are two wedge-shaped pieces of elastic that are on either side of the tongue. The cushions advertise that they are “relaxed fit,” much like the rest of my post-retirement wardrobe. I guess that means they’re comfortable. They also claim to be “air cooled.” I can say that my feet don’t sweat in them, but I’ve yet to find any sort of built-in, micro-air conditioner, either. The soles are extremely flexible, and they appear to be a one-piece, molded, comfortably soft rubber. They have a fairly deep tread, and they nicely grip even a highly polished linoleum-covered floor. (We don’t have one of those, so I had to test them out on our neighbor’s floor.)Even though I bought them to primarily wear inside the house, I had to test them out on our lawn and our driveway, just so I could say that I did. They were very comfortable to walk in, even outside on our lawn, as well as our paved, but worn out, driveway. I’m not sure how well the soles would hold up, if they were subjected to a lot of use on pavement, but they hold up well on carpet. The stitching along the seams and the elastic appears to be very well done. The soles are perfectly affixed to the canvas uppers, with no gaps showing. Finally, they passed the “eye test” with flying colors. That is to say, my wife, and even our daughters, said they look “cool,” and “really nice.” And it doesn’t get much better than that, in our family. All in all, I have no hesitation awarding these shoes a well-deserved five star rating. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
Great fit. Good looking. My hubby loves them because they're comfortable and easy to put on. He is suffering from heart failure and has trouble doing much.
Easy on and off, very comfortable and I hate wearing shoes. As easy as they go on and off they stay put while walking no need to try to hold them on flexing your toes.
Every pair of Skechers I've ever owned have been unbelievably durable. They wash up nice and never rip or tear at the seams. The sole eventually wears out and I have to get a new pair. Very comfortable shoes.
Sketchers canvas shoes have gel sole inserts which make wearing them a dream. I needed some comfortable, easy to slip on house shoes because of some knee injuries. These are perfect. The heel is about a 3/4 size with a rolled edge so you can slip them on from a standing position, but the slight heel keeps them from slipping off. Absolute heaven to wear and the bargain through Amazon Warehouse was a real treat!
Very comfortable and they look great. Bought a second pair in another color. They are the only shoes I have worn since I got them about six months ago. They fit extremely well.
Hubby felt these were a little tight.
Very comfortable, great fit, so easy to slip on
