The Shoes for Crews mens Senator - Steel Toe Loafer stands out in the world of dress shoes primarily due to its blend of safety and elegance. The leather material feels premium, making it an appealing choice for those who prioritize aesthetics in professional settings. Additionally, the water-resistant feature means you can wear them confidently in situations where spills are a concern, such as in foodservice or healthcare environments.
Comfort is paramount for long hours, and these loafers do not disappoint. The cushioned footbed paired with a dual-density insole offers ample support, allowing you to remain on your feet through demanding shifts without discomfort. The padding around the collar adds an extra layer of softness against your ankle, enhancing overall wearability.
When assessing slip resistance, the exclusive technology used in these shoes provides reliable traction, which is essential for maintaining stability on slick surfaces. This feature makes the Senator loafer not only stylish but practical for various work environments.
While the shoe does excel in several areas, some may find the steel toe feature a bit bulky, particularly if you are accustomed to softer footwear. Also, with a limited color scheme focused mainly on black, style-conscious individuals seeking variety may need to explore other brands.

Heavy but looks decent
I’ve worn Shoes for Crews for more than 15 years. They are comfortable and durable as well. For a person in the restaurant industry, I would definitely recommend them.
Shoes for Crews had "updated" this shoe and the "update" shoe is NOT worth a damn! It's too small, if you order a size larger the toe still hurts your foot, the support is terrible and it looks awful! DO NOT BUY THIS SHOE. The great reviews of the past are for the original shoe, which WAS a great shoe. Now it is just a piece of CRAP! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
I always get these shoes because they work so well on oily surfaces. Too bad they keep breaking before the bottom wears out. I glue what I can back together, but my last pair crumbled (the rubber heel part) and the bottom broke in half. Very disappointing for a $100 pair of shoes. Hopefully the quality gets better. Aside from the durability issues, these are great shoes.
Fits well and firm fit
They're nice for meetings, but after one 14 hr day you'll hate them. I got a less formal looking replacement and never put these on again. (Merrel makes a great smart yet casual work shoe) Got em super cheap, like $11 so I kept them. They also came with minor scuffs and aren't the easiest to get a good shine on.
This model is significantly heavier and sturdier than the non-steel toe model. They took forever to break in but seem as strong as army boots—shine up nice too. I expect these to last much longer than before
Being in an out of odd places...these shoes do the trick. Would like to have better (read stronger) laces....but that's a minor thing. They work as advertised.
