This is a superior chukka as compared to Vans old mid Chukkas that are nearly impossible to find now and various other knock offs. They are built and glued more sturdily, they have higher quality actual rubber, and a really comfortable insole and super grippy outsole. They are pricier than your average simple sneaker but well worth it. I would size up a half size if you plan on wearing a midweight sock. I have a high arch, a nuetrally wide ball of the foot and a narrow heel and yet these are still a bit tight with a sock and in the length, they are breaking in but I own a hell of a lot of boots and leather shoes for work and play and sizing up a half is a good move here for a great versatile shoe.
A little difficult to put on because the back is very flexible (shoe horn helps). Very comfortable and look great with jeans, khakis, and shorts…with or without socks.
Very dissatisfied with packaging and product. Damaged packaging, box was not covered and shoes look used with color fading and folds on the shoes. Doesn’t look new.
