With the pair I received, the sizing was spot-on. While they are light and supple, there is definitely the feeling of quality...even the foot bed appears to be leather ( and although they're apparently not meant to be removable, they are loosely glued in so I suppose they could be removed if you want to install your own inserts, orthotics or whatever). Do not expect this shoe to provide the same degree of ankle support as would a pair of work boots of the same height...these are moccasins after all. Overall, they have a feeling on the foot of those yarn and vinyl mukluk things I remember as a kid in the 80's.Great shoes! I'm thinking about buying a spare pair just in case SeaVees stops making them.
This boot looks awesome, I love the style. That's where it ends, good style. I bought this boot at a significantly lowered price. It was still over priced. I've worn the boots maybe 5 times and they are already showing signs of fatigue at the toe stitch and sole. Cheap stitching and cheap glue. Leather is good quality but boot is nowhere near the quality that a $200 boot would provide.....WOW MADE IN CHINA NOT CALIFORNIA. I should not of assumed "Authentic California" meant made in California.
These are cool looking, but not the best fit or quality.
these boots are very well made but I'm not sure about the kind of wear mentioned by the review below.. in Montreal snow I normally wear bog boots or a fleece lined nizza. I tried the seavees once toward the very end of winter and my feet immediately felt cold so I personally wouldn't trudge through snow in these or wade through anything wet. I also wouldn't wear these for any serious hiking because the sole doesn't look anywhere near like being designed for that task and there is no lining so blisters would be a problem. These are an urban boot, really well made, great looking with jeans and smart enough for smart/casual wear. If that's what you're after then go for it. I liked them enough to buy two pairs, brown and black
I REALLY LOVE MY SEAVEE'S. I HAVE BOTH THE 5 AND THE 7 EYELET AND BOTH FIT GREAT AND FEEL LIKE I'M WEARING MY SLIPPERS I'M REAL HAPPY WITH THEM. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. RICK
I liked them so much that I bought 2 pairs. Very comfortable. Breaking in nicely so far. Got them both for about 1/2 the suggested list price.
I bought these boots two years ago. . Since I bought them I have worn them just about every day--travelling in South Korea, car tripping through Canada, and just surviving the upper Midwest winters in Minnesota. I walk 2 miles to work in them every morning and, when the day is done, I walk the two miles back. They're light-weight enough to withstand wearing day in and day out without the slightest hint of being a "clunky" boot. Perfect for walking, perfect for trudging through snow. I lathered them up with waterproof/leather-saver oil when I first bought them. The leather has taken on a slightly new, more rustic looking color and has started forming to my foot.Long story short, I love this boot. And here I am, looking at the Amazon page considering buying another pair for when mine finally wear out. I want to make sure they don't go out of stock on me!!
