Purchased this for my 86 year, youthful mater. The mater had the same colour, lace up model for decades--and yes, the heel completely disintegrated after years of wear. SAS quality is superior, hand stitched in the USA and made of durable leather (NOT the PV so cheaply available). An active individual, these are easier to put on slip-ons are ideal for her daily walks and dalliances in aggressive table tennis matches.I purchased the same style in black for her from Amazon. In addition, as testament to SAS comfort and quality, I purchased a pair of kitten heel pumps and lace up sneakers for the mater.**Note: These items were only available via the official SAS website.

MADE IN THE U.S.A. !!! I've had many pairs (in various colors), of these shoes over the years. I first discovered them while working; being on my feet a lot and having to do a lot of walking and stair climbing, I had to find something that was comfortable, had some arch support and would last (they wear quite well), yet would still look good. These SAS shoes fit the bill perfectly. The fit is good and they feel like a glove on my foot; soft, durable & comfortable. Even after all these years, they are my favorite 'go to' shoes. I need size 10M and the SAS 10M fits perfectly!
The shoes are well made and superior quality. They are real leather. They are an attractive design and neutral color. Unfortunately, this pair of shoes identified as wide are really not wide.
