I wanted a change from the Capezio Daisy ballet shoes I've been working out and dancing in for exercise for years since the styles of dancing I do have changed also. I searched many sites online for jazz shoes in wide, with a leather upper for the superior stretch value, and suede soles for easy turning and to avoid injury. If I found any, my size was already sold out. I initially wanted to spend less than $30 but after seeing these I liked the look and ordered one size up, a 9M. In street shoes I wear 8W, in the Capezios ballet, an 8.5W if that helps. I love these Sanshas. In the 9M they are wide enough for my fat foot although when I first got them they looked so small. They work best for me with no socks or thin socks but I think they'll give with use and I'll be able to wear thicker socks. The length is perfect, no squished toes. They are already conforming to my foot shape. The best thing about these is the turns are easier and have less resistance, are smoother, than with my ballet shoes on carpeted floors. That's good news for my joints. They feel comfortable. I wish I'd switched to suede sole jazz shoes years ago.
I ordered these as a backup pair of practice shoes for ballroom and they fit the bill well. I wanted suede soles, which are hard to find in a jazz shoe (many have rubber soles, which don't glide over the floor as well) and was pleased to find these on Amazon. The slip-on styling makes for easy off and on. One caveat: Sansha recommends sizing up a half size, which I did -- but I would recommend ordering your normal street shoe size if (like me) you prefer your jazz shoes very snug so that they conform to your feet. The leather will hug your feet and stretch over time to feel like a second skin. A good buy.
These are great shoes for gliding around the dance floor. When I wear them I make everyone call me Fred.I even tried to talk my redheaded wife into coloring her hair blond... like Ginger used to.What can one say about a great pair of shoes except they fit well, are well made, look great and let you tango like Marlon?
After ordering a shoe based on the website size listing I was very disappointed to find the shoe was much too small. Thinking I would like this shoe if it fit I ordered a second pair two sizes larger. The second pair was still far too small to wear comfortably.
We were looking for jazz shoes for my 10 year old son. The no-lace style is a bit more masculine (though the shoe is certainly unisex, as advertised). I wasn't sure about the sizing but he wears a boys' 5-6. I ordered the men's 5 and they are fine. He is very happy with them. No issues with shipping or billing either, everything smooth.
These were as I expected them to be. Easier to put on than the lace up ones I had just about worn out.
for anyone comparing this shoe to the bloch women's super jazz shoe, the bloch shoe is sleeker and prettier (the taupe is nicer than tan), but the bloch is cut narrower and is not as comfortable. the leather sole and slightly wider fit on this sansha are much more comfortable, and my guess is that it will last longer. the sole has 2 pieces of leather at the ball of foot and toes (not one as pictured). I wear a 7 street shoe, and the recommended 8 (women's) was the right size for me, since I plan to wear with a sock. barefoot wearers might try 1/2 size up from street size.
I bought these for my son as a gift. I am always nervous about buying shoes online and buying for someone else I was even more hesitant. The shoes arrived, on time as promised, and fit beautifully! I had matched the size to my son's boat shoes and they slipped on and were comfortable from the get go. He was super happy the next day at dance class. Thank you!
