Received the boots on 8/6. Posting this initial review same day. I have always struggled to find good shoes due to a wide foot. I normally wear a 10.5EE or an 11EE. I purchased these in 11W (EE) They fit wonderfully have the right amount of space throughout the shoe. I can tell there will be no break in period needed for these. The BOA system is fantastic and so much better then shoe laces, i really wish they were more widely used. However as others have stated it's difficult to get your foot in the boot itself, using a boot/shoe horn helps however still is challenging. Once your fit is it it's 10 out of 10 so far. Should my opinion change I'll update my review and update my review on durability in the future.Update 8/28/22 just got back from Colorado mountain hiking trip. Hiked about 20 miles in rough terrain in these and they have helped up so far extremely well. Went through lots of different terrains, primarily rocks, mud, creeks, and of course dirt. These boots kept my feet dry and waterproofing worked great, 0 issues with traction ( I didn't fall at all) they offered a great amount of ankle support, I tore a ligament in my ankle a month ago and these supported my ankle nicely, stopped my ankle from rolling about 4 times, if I had been in my merrell shoes (not boots) it would have rolled and re injured. These provided great confidence for the hiking. And the BOA system makes them so nice. Can tighten or loosen in 1 second on the fly depending on terrain or just walking in town. The issue of putting the boots on with limited range in the arch area has gotten better has the have broken in. Pretty much longer an issue. If your looking at these boots just buy em. You won't regret.
I am walking in the woods every day come rain or shine. Along with being comfortable, these boots keep my feet dry. Many other "waterproof" boots don't. I bought a back-up pair, and will continue to do so as I need replacements.
Boots are supportive, comfortable and waterproof. Only complaint is the ankle is tight when putting them on
5 star because I am familiar with the brand and stand by them yet on the other hand was unable to wear mine due to the instep being far to shallow for my foot to be able to slide in all the way. Rockies are great boots and an amazing value and I would recommend all day long
One 10 day hunt and these boots are trash. Just falling apart and can not handle real hunts. Very comfortable but would last a single bush trip
Bought the size 13 Rocky Summit Elite eVent. I am 6'5" 315 lbs and wanted to break in a new set of hiking boots prior to a vacation. I have gone on two 2 mile walks and one 3 mile walk. These shoes have great support in heel and ankles. This is my first pair of shoes with the BOA lacing system. The shoes laced up snug whether I was in regular cotton socks or compression socks, and no blisters developed. So satisfied one week in. 3 Month update - Still using these shoes. Walked myself down to 300 lbs and shoes are still holding up well. Happy with the ankle support and heel support. 1 year update: Walked my way down to sub 300. These boots have been on paved and unpaved hikes in Hawaii, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. They have held up great, still comfortable. Starting to wear on soles. Wish I had done better tracking distances using my watch, but from what I have, my most common walks are 3 mile range with longest walks being in the 7 mile range. Thinking about getting a new pair before I start losing my grip on slippery surfaces.
American brands run wider than European or Japanese brands, but I ordered the wide size just in case. I do have wide feet but these are roomy for thick wool socks in cool weather. We'll see how warmer weather works. Very light and comfortable. Boa works well but you need to pay attention so not to trap cables behind the tongue. Breathability is just ok. I'll update as I put more miles on them.
They fit great and he says they’re super comfortable
