tried them for about 5 minutes in the house when I got them and then wore them for our 3mile walk the next morning, they fit fine and were comfortable for the walk. Tried them again in the rain today and my feet were warm and dry. They fit and feel good. Got them for an elk hunt in November so I am looking forward to wearing them the snow and cold. They didn't need a lot of breaking in, good right out ofd the box.
Great fit, great price and my guy doesn’t slip on the side of the mountain! They were substantially cheaper than local and shipped fast!
I'm wearing the boots as I review. I like the looks of the boots and the ease of putting them on. I walked around the house with them, and I don't feel any possible sore spots. I have found in the past with any boot if they don't feel good, I don't keep them. So far, I like them. As some review reports I have seen, the boot laces are too short. I think the laces on my boot are too short. I would have given a 5 star if the laces were longer. I hope Rockey will send me replacements. This is an update. Returned boots because the right boot developed a hot spot on the ankle. Looked inside the boot and found out that when it was made the stitching of the liner was bunched up and caused the pain.
I bought these for my upcoming move to Alaska. So far, they're holding up great in 18 degree Ohio snow and cold. Hopefully they'll be just as sturdy and warm in -18. Still in their break in period so they're a little stiff. This is the first pair of Rocky boots that haven't been comfortable right out of the box. I wore them a full day while working around the house. The tread is great for snow and ice, but got really clumped up with mud. The same could be said for my Rocky bear claw boots. All in all I will say another great boot from Rocky. Very thin for a high insulation. Plenty of room in the toe box for some thick socks. A coat of mink oil is going on and putting these bad boys back on my feet to finish breaking them in before Alaska.
I know they're expensive, but gosh they look and feel great!
These are very good quality boots from Rocky, I didn’t expect it to be so well made compared to the combat boots they make for soldiers. These are all around good for all seasons and great for hunting/fishing/hiking. I definitely recommend, bad comments don’t seem to add up to these quality boots.
Last pair of similar Rockies still going after 15+ years of hunting seasons, time for new ones. Like the all leather.
These boots were a Xmas gift for my son. They're for a backwoods conservation job in Montana. He didn't wear them until a short hike a couple days ago (Mar 14,2021). After a few hours the metal shoelace hook popped off. Contacted seller, and no return OR replacement. But they'll give him a 60% coupon to buy the same pair of boots.If you expect this company to stand by it's product, think again. They are NOT Converse or Timberland.If you are a hardcore hiker, look elsewhere for a good company to purchase gear from.
