This boot is very similar to the high dollar Danners, but affordable. Relatively no break in time. Comfortable from the start. Only way they could be better is if they had the side zipper. Still probably top three best pair of patrol boots I’ve owned in 29 years. Highly recommend!
I have had these for a few weeks now and still trying to break them in. A little stiff but I think with some time they will break in. Nice boot for the price, definitely like the looks of them.
Perfect. Have another pair of these I needed to replace. They've lasted me almost 20 yrs.New pair fit just like the old pair. Constructed to last.Somewhat stiff initially but broke in quickly (three days or so).
After wearing a single pair of Danner Arcadia Boots for almost 14 years, it was time to send them back for recrafting. I order the Rocky Portland boots as a replacement. When they arrived, I immediately could tell that they were a cheap, low quality boot. The boot material had a cheap, thin, “pleather” (plastic-leather) feel to it. The laces were thin and the boot just didn’t feel right. If you’re accustomed to quality, like Danner boots, you are going to be disappointed with Rockys. I sent them back for a refund and ordered a new pair of Danners.
I have been buying and wearing Rocky boots for over 3 decades and wear these Portland boots 5 days or more per week. They last me about a year and I typically buy 2 pairs at a time. I like the sole as it doesn’t mark floors and they’re relatively waterproof. I keep coming back and will until they disappoint me.
Boots fit true to size. Boots did great in the snow and rain (water seepage). Lots of complements from peers. The boots are way lighter and more comfortable than my old Danner’s.!
Great pair of boots, now that being said I never expected the tough being sewed up kinda high so its a little odd when putting them on, but once on great fit with the added leg support due to the sewed kinda high tough. good fit, good look, comfortable to ware all day.
I received the boots in two days. Which was great! They are pretty stiff out of the box, but after treating them with some mink oil it loosened them up. The main difference between the Danner Acadias and these Rockys is that the Rockys are made in China and the Acadias are made in the good ol US of A. They are both Gore-Tex lined and they both have the restichable Vibram sole. The boot is fairly light and comfortable. I would recommend replacing the factory insole, it will make a huge difference in the comfort level. Working in the Great Up North aka the U.P., you need a boot that will be able to handle all weather conditions. These boots so far have been good tromping through the snow, ice, slush and mud. If you are working in either the Law Enforcement or Corrections field you will need a boot that you rely on for 8 to 16 hours a day. These boots have made the cut so far. So if you are wanting to get a pair of Danners but can't quite afford them, these are the boots for you. Stay safe out there.
