I carried mail for the postal service and these are the same boots you get with your uniform allowance. Very good boots.
They seem well put together. They definitely run large, but extra thick socks are helping, for now. I'll update the review, once the boots have been broken in, in a couple months.Update 1/15/18Reducing to three stars. The boots haven’t lasted as long as I had hoped they would. The waterproofing has been better than I’d expected, but the treads have worn out and begin to separate from the sole. For postal-approved boots that cost over $200, I expected more. Over all, decent boots but overpriced for the expected lifespan, for this letter carrier.
I have been wearing the same boot, Eliminators, for 25yrs. 10 EW was never a problem with fit. Ordered these from Amazon 10 EW could not get foot into boot, way too small. Not sure why? Are these authentic Rocky Eliminator boots? And the aggravation of having to go to a UPS store to return and pay to ship back ( which was minimal). This was not the reason I bought from Amazon.
Pay the money. Your feet will be warm and dry. Happy feet! Get them a 1/2 size larger than fits you so you can wear 2 layers of socks. I wear mine hard, everyday, waterproofing lasts 2 winters. Still good for cold but dry weather after that.
Regular wear 11.5 with other boots, got a 11.5 wide and they were way to big. Sent back gonna try a 10.5. I recommend getting a size down.
Ive carried mail for 22 years, and I am only on my 2nd pair of these (type) boots. Yes they are oversized. that is to accommodate heavier (wool) socks in the winter. I only wear these on really crappy days. That is the idea afterall. These are extremely warm boots and why i cannot wear them everyday. But they are absolutely waterproof and I recommend them to anyone that may find oneself in cold/wet conditions for extended time.
The boot sole is not as skip resistant as I thought it was going to be.
I wore a new pair of these every 2yrs for work. Within the last decade the quality control has went way down. Returned this last pair and switched to Irish Setters
