The Rockport Work Men's RK6640 Work Boot excels in several categories critical to work boots. First and foremost is comfort. The XTR brand extra wide composite toe cap allows for a spacious fit, making it ideal for those with wider feet or who spend long hours standing. Users often report that this boot requires minimal break-in time, allowing you to focus on your work rather than discomfort.
Durability is another key aspect. Made from premium leather, these boots resist wear and tear typically encountered on job sites. The waterproof nature keeps your feet dry regardless of external conditions, which is a significant advantage for workers exposed to moisture.
In terms of safety, the electrical hazard protection does well in keeping you secure around live wires, while the slip and oil resistant outsole adds an extra layer of security against falls and slips.
However, it's worth noting that while the boot is excellent for wet environments, it may lack insulation for those needing warmth during colder months. Overall, the Rockport RK6640 stands out as a robust choice for anyone seeking a versatile work boot.

These are the only work boots that I buy and will continue buying. They are comfortable and sturdy.
I like these better than any of the last three pair of "work" boots I have purchased. I got so tired of name brand work boots falling apart quickly I started cycling older waterproof hiking boots into work settings as I replaced them with new hikers. I took a chance on these.Pro -- They are made of good quality leather. The leather accepted leather dressing without issues and looks great.- They required little break in and do not rub anywhere, including my bunion.- The shaft is snug fitting and comes up a true 6 inches. They did not skimp on the tongue or its attachments. There is enough leather in the shaft to lace properly without gapping, unlike a pair of boots I ended up returning.- The sole and insole feel almost like a tennis shoe, and the energy flex function seems to work.- The boots in general, and the toe box, feel slightly wide. Not sloppy, but generous. If you need that it's a plus. They would accommodate heavy socks or thicker insoles.Cons -- The arch support is a bit weak, and I have to lace up tightly to get the support I feel like I need.- The soles have been a little slippery on an oily surface. This might be because they are new and not scuffed in.- Laces are already fraying a bit. They may not last.Unless something changes I would recommend and buy again.
These boots are wonderful. I'm in construction and cannot tolerate sore feet. There is plenty of room in the box.
Rockport shoes are the only brand that fit my feet with the wide with. I've owned several pairs of Rockport work boots. These are a bit shorter than their tallest models but are taller than typical mid-height boots. These fit and feel as if I spent a year treating with mink oil and breaking them in. The outside is soft and flexible which helps the fit feel for my feet. Insoles are OK for me & I'm a bigger guy. Might need new insoles in a year but that's to be expected for me.These also are full lace-up no hooks for the top couple eyelets. I hadn't paid attention to that & glad I didn't as I would likely have passed missing out on the most comfy boots I've ever worn. I have rheumatoid arthritis which affects my feet, ankles & knees. That means I need just the right balance of support & comfort. These have that in spades. I can go on walks again. The sole & platform are fairly stiff with just enough flex as I walk. The soles are not overly firm and toward the softer side. All of these features are with the price of admission. My Grandfather was a tool & die machinist who was on concrete all day for 10-hrs daily. He once told me to never buy cheap work boots. I've followed that advice for over decades...so for me the price of these is justified because of quality and how great my feet & legs feel after a few hours on my feet. I wear them as my daily drivers.Sorry I ramble, just trying to express the level of satisfaction I have wearing these boots.
I have several pairs of Rockport dress and casual shoes and they are all lite and comfortable. Imagine my surprise to get these and find they are huge, heavy and not comfortable at all. I guess the the safety toe should have been a give away but I thought Rockport would do better than this. And on the safety toe issue, why is it Rockport that this was the only high top work boot you offered at the time, I took a chance on these due to being Rockports, and was very disappointed. It would be like Ferrari building an army tank and trying pass it off as a pickup truck, not what I expected from Rockport :(
TRUE TO FIT, USE EVERY DAY IN THE CONSTRUCTION FIELD
What can I say. The wide toe cap is very roomy and wide. The fit is true to size, which is always nice. They're very comfortable wear and breath better than other boots I've worn. However, in annoyed at quality control with these boots. The laces were damaged out of the box. Two spots along the welt/sole looked poorly glued. The heel has leather patch, that I like since I feel it'll last longer, however, it dyes your socks an ugly color of brown when it gets wet/sweaty.I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the glue and laces. I can forgive the discoloration to my socks. Still waiting to test out their waterproofing quality, I may change to 4 stars if I'm impressed.
Having worn these boots for well-over 30 days of 6-7 days a week of 13 hour shifts on Concrete floors - I feel I can give an Honest review of initial results. First, let me say, I am an older man 59 years old and 290 pounds. The Rockport RK6640 boots are the MOST COMFORTABLE WORK BOOTS I HAVE EVER WORN! And I have tried MANY BOOTS! And SPENT MANY, MANY hours Researching Online! I Need not only Comfortable boots, but Metal Free that will let me go through the Metal Detectors Without removing them! I Have found only 3 boots that work for me - The best is Rockport RK6640, & the Royer 6 inch Metal Free - Very Comfortable as well, and Finally the Timberland PRO BOONDOCK 6 inch boot - these are Very Comfortable as well, and Probably the Best MADE - They WEAR like IRON. The Rockport boots are so comfy - I can sometimes come home after a 13 hour Shift, and NOT be compelled to Immediately remove them! I Hope Rockport does Not Stop making them! But just in case - I bought 2 more pair, I like them SO MUCH! Let me also recommend 2 upgrades I made to A GREAT BOOT - I replaced the included insoles with ORANGE TIMBERLAND PRO INSOLES, MUCH MORE COMFY! And Replaced the stock laces with KEVLAR BOOT LACES, they will not break. God Bless, I hope this information will be helpful,
