Very comfortable right out of the box and they don’t require a break in period. It has a nice supportive insole and wide toe box. If comfort is what you want, then these are the boots for you!
I am on my 3rd pair of these boots, and after being unavailable for over a year and wearing my last pair completely through the sole while having ordered and tried 9 other pairs of boots looking for a replacement, they finally came back in stock. I ordered an extra 2 pair to sit on the shelf to make sure I had the next pair when the time came. I have feet that are 9.5 long and almost as wide as they are long. These are literally the only boot I have ever worn (and I’ve owned every type of Red Wing, Timberland, etc) that has a toe box my fat feet and toes fit in without being smashed to one side or the other. If you have ever had problems with the toe box of boots not being wide enough these are the boots to try.
Comfort is good so far. Will update this review later to see how well the slip and water resistance is.Took one star off because the branding for adiprene is different from what the pictures show. The adiprene logo at the bottom of the boot says "truTECH". The insole also says truTECH. Also the outter sole is all black minus the truTECH logo. The item pics should be accurate to the tee because I'd suspect these are knock offsAs others have noted, the size of this boot is large in comparison to timberlands and bates boots mainly because of the size of the composite toe cap. I had to get used to driving with standard pedals since they are close together.Update 10/10/2017: The slip resistance is slightly less than bates gx-4s, but better than most timberlands and perform well on wet tiling.Update 11/13/2020: Ordered second pair and seems to be the same quality as the first. The bottom outsole on my first pair began to come apart after 2 years and the leather started to peel/crack in various locations. Not bad really. I must say the comfort of these boots are better than some work sneakers I've tried. These boots are quite heavy, but they offer good protection and water resistance. I highly recommend going with a 1/2 size bigger with these and pretty much any shoe with a composite or steel toe. A wider size helps with comfort too.
I have only used it for a few days, but there was no break-in period needed. Fit great and were comfortable from day one. I did feel there is a lack of arch support in the footbed. It is a very flat insole, but it is very springy and comfortable, probably the best insole I have felt from a work boot company. Replace the insole if the flat foot bothers you. They look very nice.
I finally found the one! Best work boots I ever bought!! I made the mistake of trying another brand after my first pair - had to return them and get these again. Comfortable right out the box, no break in period. I have wide feet so the wide width is excellent. I love the wide toe box - no more pinched toes, corns, calluses, jacked up toes. The Adidas adiprene soles are really comfortable, but you can remove them and put in your own preferred inserts. They last me about a year though, but I put them through the grinder - I'm pretty rough on them.Shop around. I found my 2nd pair on another website, $30 cheaper, free shipping.
I have two pair of these shoes and work where I have to pass a metal detector every day, these shoes with safety toe make it through as stated. They are very good well made shoes that I expect to have for a long time.
Best boots evah !!! Get a pair now !!! Light weight, no break in, very comfortable from day 1, eyelets all the way up, no PITA hooks & a rear pull up loop. Glad I bought them & I will again. I'm borderline wide foot & regular size fit me fine.
I bought these for my son when he got his summer job working in the meat department at a local grocery store. He needed waterproof boots because he hosed down the department and sanitized it every night and needed something durable. After buying another pair at a local store, I returned them and bought these. They were definitely waterproof and comfortable. He worked 8 hour shifts and was on his feet the entire time. I would recommend these who wants comfort and durability. I did re waterproof them at the end of the summer so they will be ready for him to wear again when he works during college breaks.
