These are really great casual shoes. Very comfortable but sturdy. The soles are whisper quiet but heavy duty. They are not heavy shoes but I would not call them lightweight. Just right. They are really well made and look very nice like a designer work boot. If they get scuffed, you can easily polish them. They were a little stiff to start at first but like all good leather shoes break in real nice. They are elegant in their simplicity. For the money these are really great deal.

These boots are very comfortable, like most rockports. My feet feel great after long days of walking on pavement. The waterproofing is excellent for rain, puddles, snow, etc. Very impressive waterproofing that beats most competitors like Timberland, Clarks, etc. Good value for money. I have wide feet and the wide size here fits me well.Now for the negatives. The sole wears out superfast since it is so soft. So it becomes smooth and loses any sense of traction on ice or wet tiles, but is still wearable on dry pavement. It would benefit from speed hooks since I have to loosen the laces quite a bit to put them on and off. It's very casual looking, more like combat boots than dress boots. I've made it work with a business suit in a military setting but that would not work in formal office settings.

January 2022PROS: Affordable. Look good - a step above men's work boots. Doesn't look like a clown-shoe like other men's boots. Comfortable. Good strong laces and eyelets. Plenty of room for my toes and no rubbing on my heel. Plenty of color options.CONS: Quality. I have two pairs of these boots, and both make a "schwack" sound when I walk. Very annoying when you're walking in a quiet space with other people around. Not sure if its the leather upper where the toes bend snapping back into shape, or something in the sole, but every step makes that noise. Little to no insulation. Even with heavy wool socks, my feet quickly feel cold when you're outside on a cold day for more than a few minutes. Tag that came with boots mentions synthetic leather, but I'm not even sure which part of the boot is synthetic.These are "good enough" boots for me. I don't want to spend $400 for a high-quality pair of boots as I'm not that fashionable and I don't need work-quality boots. I don't expect these to last a lifetime and I'm not torturing them by walking in heavy snow or wet conditions. If you're constantly having to walk in wintery or wet conditions, I'm not sure I'd recommend these. But for in the home/office or around town, they're fine.
Responsible cost, excellent comfortable shoe.
