The boots will make a great accessory to your wardrobe. Please consider that the boots are not a snow, winter or rain boots. The boots are a true dress causal style item. You may need to add a separate pair of waterproof dress or dress causal boots or snow boots to your wardrobe if you live in a cold or rainy climate. The boots are rather ruggedly built, but they are not clunky. They may feel a little stiff during your first two wearing, but they will soon loosen-up and begin to feel more and more comfortable. The boots will look quite stylist with a pair of jeans or with a pair of very nice dress slacks. The boots has the appearance of a much more expensive pair. Please purchase a neutral color shoe shine sponge or a sponge the color of the boots in order to keep your boots looking their maximum best. The only issue I have with the boots is that they often come untied due to the apparent waxing on the laces; however, inexpensive replacement laces from Amazon or your local store will take care of that.
Look great and fit great, very comfortable
I like Rockports, like the style - and needed to replace chukka boots that finally wore out. The measurement for the 10.5 W given is actually almost .75 inches smaller than the measure inside the shoe toe-to-heal. I needed a “wide” to accommodate a bunion and bought these based on my experience with Rockports and the length measurement in the “size guide” on the listing. If I can find heel pads to take up the excess room in the back, I won’t return these for a size smaller, otherwise I’ll return them. The width is perfect to accommodate the bunion, but these definitely run larger than the measurement given in the listing.
This is a comfortable beautiful shoe.
Quality boots! Fit my size 16, with room for my Superfeet insoles. The original insoles were kind of subpar, but I anticipated this. Fit is on par with what I expect from Rockport. Plenty of room for thick wool socks as well. For reference, I wear a 17 in Nike, Asics, and Under Armor. All medium width.
I hadn't been inclined to try Rockport, but I wanted a dark brown boot--and these were described as 50% off at $60, so I bit.I know TPR( the outsole material) is not one of the more durable sole types, but I'm fine with it--I chose these chukkas for the office, not hiking. What DID irk me with Rockport happened at first whenever I dressed the boots up with the world's gold-standard leather conditioner--Saphir: After a few weeks the finish would look odd like the conditioner was not all absorbed. My half-dozen pairs of dress-leather footwear drink up Saphir like a kid with chocolate milk--but this pair seemed to have a touch of reflux: ewww ! Is it...it is leather, right? These chukkas normally go for $120 ? For real ? Design of these Rockports is nice and they feel great; but for about the same $60, I've had comparable Clarks that NEVER looked like they were molting.- -After a year, I appreciate the comfort and solid feel, and the fact Rockport made a wide size--I've come to wear this boot really often. But comparing my $70 Clarks "premium leather," I don't like the $60 Rockports' "premium leather" as well. Next time I'm back to Clarks.
They are not another pair of shoes... they are the perfect combination between elegant and functional
These are the most disappointing Rockport shoes I have ever felt. They look fine, and they are sized appropriately, but the soles offer essentially no support or cushioning. It is very uncomfortable to stand and walk in these shoes even as much as I do in a normal workday at the office. Consequently, I do not wear them and plan to give them away.
