Great shoe. I already had it in new vicuna color and loved it. Tried it on and it was indeed the same feel as the ones I already had, so it works great. They are incredibly light weight. I have many Rockports but this is probably the most comfortable. If you have a fairly wide foot you should go with the wide width. Do recommend this shoe.
These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box as most light weight walkers are. They run a tad small and very narrow. I'm going to re-order either a 1/2 size bigger, or the wider version. I'll improve my rating if they work out. I like the style and comfort and they will fit in great as casual work shoes that are breathable for the summer.Anotehr issue with these is they are noisy. And that might be something I just can't get past. I read reviews of another Rockport Walkers with the EVA foot bedding and there were a lot of comments about the "squeaky" noise. This was a different style and no noise complaints so far, so I took a chance. But sure enough, the "squeaky", "pfffffft", and "shhhhht" sounds are very noticeable. Even the slightest movement of your toes results in the awkward sounds. I hope Rockport fixes this and keeps the style, or similar styles. It seems fixable since the source of the noise is the rubber bottom of the insert rubbing against the very grippy EVA sponge foot bedding. Then there are large holes built into the foot bedding as well that when squished underfoot, create the "pffft" farting sounds. One reviewer from the other style mentioned that adding powder between the footbed and insert resolved this problem. Since I like the style and breath-ability of these, I want to give them another chance. I hope i can find a way to resolve the noisy issue.UPDATE: I've upped from 3 to 4 stars. Had the wider size now for a couple weeks and they're very comfortable and fit like a regular 10.5 d. I still can't give 5 stars because of the size issue and the noise issue with the eva foot bedding. For the noise issue I used powder between the sole bed and the insert. Thankfully this works! I put a good amount of Dr Scholl's foot powder into the foot bedding area where the "holes" are. Occasionally all the powder settles into the holes and the noise returns, but only for a few steps until the powder is redistributed across the footbed again. It's kind of like an engine needing the oil to cycle up into the heads. Despite the quirky issues I'm happy wiht these. Great summer work shoe for the office. Perforations cut down on the heat. I do a lot of stairs at work, and these seem like they will hold up well enough and keep my feet cool.
My third pair of Rockport Activflex Rocsports (different color/style). These are so comfortable, even more than my running shoes. They also have a great casual+ style. Highly recommended for a soft, comfortable pair of shoes that are great for all day walking on vacations or for casual Friday at the office.
I am looking for a good lightweight walking shoe and, while this is a very lightweight shoe, it is too light for extended walking over uneven surfaces. The shoe is perforated for coolness but that makes the shoe very weak in support and stability. The sole is also too thin for walking anywhere but smooth surfaces. I give it 3 stars since it would be good for light duty walking. Since it was not what I expected, I returned the shoes.
changed out the insole as original is not dense enough to mask the surface changes in the inside of the shoe body. Light as a feather and breathes as well as an athletic shoe.
This shoe fits perfectly to size. Made from durable material and has quality cord laces. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and they are a lifesaver for the 50+ hours a week I spend standing/walking on hard surfaces at work. I recommend this style to anyone.
I realised in hindsight from the internet that there is a standard (M) n a wide (W) size . The latter gives a wider space for the leg. The size is correct but there was no option for W. Only M is offered n I overlooked this aspect
