I got these to wear walking the dog, since our usual walk spans a field for a stretch. As a size 12, I'm used to having a hard time finding shoes that fit, so it's a bit of a surprise to discover that these are a bit too large. But I think they're the right length, so I'm keeping them. And I'm not running marathons in them or anything.A little too wide across the ball of the foot and too loose in the heel. My socks tend to get pulled down under my foot. But hey, they keep my feet dry. Can't really tighten them with the laces because of the way they're designed. The laces are more for show. When I try to tighten them, the tongue just bunches up. I can put these on and off without using the laces, which is a good thing, in that I have a high arch and can't do this with all shoes.I might try to add some heel pads, so that they don't slip around so much. But basically, I'm happy enough with these.
I like the shoes and have bought more than one styles of Propet shoes. These were a bit stiff.
I needed a pair of rain shoes and saw these came in my size and a wide width. They are just a little too big (they slip up and down my heel) but I like it because I can wear thicker socks; but they are comfortable.
As with most shoes that are wide enough in the toe box, they are really wide in the heel. They are also really stiff so I didn't think inserts would help the slipping. I've returned them.
Ordered the wide width for my daughter and ended up returning them because they were not wide enough for her feet. Also, expected more flexibility in the tongue area, as she needs lots of space to get her wide foot and high arch into a shoe. Seemed to be good quality and was sorry that they did not fit. If you have wide feet, recommend ordering the extra-wide.
I have to admit I cheated. I replaced the leather laces with an elastic variety. This allows me to slip them on without bending over, so I just go right out and start gardening immediately. They slip off as easily. I plan to use them anytime I go hiking in wet weather. My regular hiking boots are a terrible mess when I go for a walk and step through the local sticky-mud. These boots have good traction, but clean-up is a breeze by comparison. They look mostly civilized, so I'll have no concern about wearing them around town during raincoat season.
This was a good looking shoe, and the fit was not bad. But the sole was much stiffer than I expected and I found it not very comfortable to walk in. So I returned it.
the shoelaces are of poor quality, the shoes are hard on the feet, and the fit was unusual. The first time I attempted to tie one of the shoelaces, it broke. So, I had to order a new set of laces before I could where the shoes. While the size is partially as expected (the length is OK, and the forward part is as expected), the heel area is much too wide and can only be worn with a very thick boot sock (which then makes the toes a bit cramped). The instep is very rigid and left the instep of my feet very red and sore. I have not worn them in any deep puddles yet, so I don't know how well the waterproof feature works.
