The comfort level of the Propét men's Cliff Walker hiking boot is one of its standout features. Shoes feel great and are well made. They arrived on time.
I have gone thru trying many different Propet shoes/boots in the past, all ending in disappointment as weird strange fit or poor fit. I just avoided Propet like the plague until I picked up this pair of boots at a hugely discounted price. I was wearing Timberland hiking boots for the summer hikes, but needed something for the winter that's a bit more insulated and water/snow proof. Suprisingly, this model in WIDE was excellent and reliable unlike other poorly fitted Propet models. Six months of 4 mile hike every weekend, it still looks new.
Roomy well made sturdy boots. I usually wear size 11 6E. These are 5E and fit me just fine, even with my very high arch, because of their design. Room for heavy socks, as is appropriate for hiking boots. Soft uppers prevent ankle chafing. The laces are too soft and started fraying the first time I laced them up, but I was going to replace them anyway. Still, took one star off for that. Price was very competitive, shipping was trouble free.
After many years of not being able to find good looking boots that fitted my foot, I discovered the Propet range of footwear. I have been wearing New Balance for the last 18 years as they were often the only shoes that were both comfortable and in my size, 15, and having a wide foot between a 2E and 4E, 2E being firm and 4E just a little loose. I brought the Propet Cliff Walker Boot 15 3E in both black and brown. I decided to take the black PropetCliff Walker Boots as my only shoes to Sydney, for the bimonthly Nurse's Union Delegates Meeting. First impression, these boots are light, very light in weight. At first I was not impressed with the speed lace connections, when attempting to tie the laces at first, but now I really like this feature, as I can remove the boots very quickly. The first day included flights to Sydney, walking all around Central Sydney, and then meetings, followed by catching up with other delegates from around NSW. So, after spending 18 hours in these boots, I removed them, and I only had a sore left heal, which I still can not believe, as normally spending more then 8 hours on my feet at work, my whole left foot has pain, I was over the moon, as I normally soak my left foot in cold water for a good hour before going to bed. The heal pain was just enough to be noticeable. I spent the next day walking around Sydney, a few hours at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum, flying home and having a family dinner at my mother's. When I finally got home and removed the Propet Cliff Walker boots, I had no foot pain. These boots are very, very comfortable, and if you have trouble with your feet, I highly recommend you try this boot. I am one of those people who, when they find a comfortable pair of shoes, will buy a few pairs, I plan on buying few more pairs of this boot, thats how good they are!
Look good, fit great.....but after four months of easy occasional wear the leather is already cracking and separating at the seams.Very disappointing, best fitting boots I've ever found.
EDIT: These seem to run a little long, maybe a 1/2 size. At first, they seemed narrow, but after a day of wearing them, they have broken in and fit fine. I'd say that the XXWide is not a 5E, like is printed on the shoe. It is more like a 2E or maybe 3E, which will be fine for me.first, the XX Wide size says 5E on the boot. It seems like it is barely even a W. It is tight on the width, for my EEE feet. Most of the time, I can fit into a 9W boot. I ordered this in 9 XXW and it was too long. My heel would lift up with each step. I returned and bought the 8.5 XXW. It fits. Oddly, the 8.5 is longer than my rockport boots size 9. With my warm, wool socks, the width was not wide enough and they hurt. With regular socks, they are bearable. I'm hoping they will stretch with break-in, and that I'll eventually be able to wear thicker, warmer socks.
Excellent craftsmanship! Very very comfortable ! Arrived on time !
I have struggled with finding shoes that fit my 4-5 E width for decades. While these didn't come in an "extra wide", I decided to give them a try based on reviews. I ordered the widest width available, but based on a recommendation from a friend, increased the shoe size by a half (went from a 10.5 to an 11). Blown away - these are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Propet has earned a spot on my "repeat purchases" list.
