Bought for husband who has a very wide foot & a couple of hammer toes which make most closed in shoes uncomfortable after walking for a little while. The extra wide width of thi shoe combined with soft pliable material has made them his favorite casual shoe.
These shoes are for someone who wants a SOFT bouncy walk. Excellent for people with foot sensitivity - diabetics for example. They wear a little small - my 11.5 are just a tad small. Look great and seem to be well made. Note: The bottom of the shoes are made from a foamy soft material that with use will wear out faster then harder materials. But the advantage is the soft walk. Look nice !
My husband is extremely picky when it comes to shoes and clothing. He bought a pair of these from a local shoe store at three times the price. He like the shoe but not the price. Found a better deal here on Amazon. As for the shoe, it is well made, has arch support, and is exactly what he was looking for. He rates the shoe 5 stars. We both like the look of the shoe as well and in that respect we both give it 5 stars.
Comfortable and fit a wide foot with ease!
I had to return my first pair due to sizing. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5, but with this shoe I'm apparently size 9. Never worn a size 9 in my life, but okay.So here's my impression after getting ones that fit and having them a couple months. It doesn't reek of quality materials. I actually bought these at the same time I bought some very similar Kenneth Cole black boat shoes, and it was a night and day difference between the material; the Ken Coles really outshined these. The walk itself is great. These are very cushy/bouncy. I assume this is due in part to the oversized white sole on the outside, which isn't aesthetically pleasing to me, but must add to the comfortable walk. The downside of the walk is that the topline of the shoe sits very awkwardly on that bone that sticks out of the ankle. So these would be an absolute joy to walk in, if that topline were lower (or higher I suppose?). I feel like if I *really* put these shoes through the paces (pun kind of intended), I'd end up with blisters on that ankle bone. Also, these have very little water resistance. If I walked in the rain, my socks are getting wet. Maybe that's just how boat shoes are, since they typically have that overly large stitching, but figured it was worth mentioning. So all in all, I still enjoy the look of this shoe, there weren't a lot of options for black boat shoes. But I tend to wear these if I'm going out for a couple hours where I'll mostly be sitting.
Well constructed but faulty design. Even with heavy socks, the irritation caused by the high sides rubbed against the bottom of my ankle bones. Good price, fast shipping -
Good quality and fit.
very comfortable
