I actually just bought a second pair after the 1st pair I bought over a year ago just to have one on reserve since I noticed on the factory site that they seemed to be no longer offered. I looked for years for a desert boot that could fit my 13 5E gunboats. And Propet came through with a royal flush! One of the very few shoes in the past 55 yrs that felt great and comfortable from the very first time I laced them up. Plus the quality and workmanship is excellent. After a year of medium use the original pair is showing no wear on the soles. Leather suede still looks great with just a suede brush and a light brush off. Really sorry to see them discontinued!
Great value. I'm a 13 and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable.. Plus they arrived quickly.
These are very comfortable. The soles are thick enough to protect your feet but not too thick or heavy. The stitching where the upper attaches to the sole is attractive. I applied a water-resistant treatment and have had no problems wearing them in occasional wet weather. The color is great with denim. A good value.
Great fit. Very comfortable. Well made. However, the interior material is not nearly as nice as the exterior material. Great value! I will buy more Propet shoes.
Husband was pleased and they fit well. Hard to find 14 xx wides at a value price
I saw some words of caution in earlier reviews but decided to give this brand a try since it was on sale at a nice price. I have really been delighted with these chukka boots since they arrived. They are madly comfortable, they look great with jeans, and are lined with flannel which keeps my feet warm in the current cold weather in New England. I waited to wear them for a few months before reviewing. I do not wear them every day, but use them in rotation. I see no sign at all of wear or separation of sole which was the subject of earlier comments. This purchase has pleased me and I would not hesitate to buy a second pair. I treated them with a silicon boot protector spray and found that the leather did not darken or discolor. I suggest that step for other wearers for weather protection and preservation.
If you're considering these boots, there's a good chance that you're like me and have feet that are a difficult size to shop for and you don't want to spend $500+ on custom chukkas. I normally wear a size 14 2E because I measure 13.5 2E on a brannok device. I ended up finding that the 13 3E (or X-wide as they may call it) was the right fit for me on these Propet boots. As pictured, I got the "stone" color and they appear as a medium gray with hint a brown. It's a nice neutral color that's easy to match. These aren't high quality welted/stitchdown boots and I knew that going in so I kept my expectations low. However, for the budget price, they actually surprised me in quality and comfort. Sure, they're made in China, but the brand seems to have some decent quality control. I expect I'll get at least a couple summers of wearing them a few times a week before they wear out.I've worn them about a half dozen times now so far, so good. I've gotten a few drops of water on the suede and it hasn't shown and discoloration or anything yet. It seems to be treated enough to at least have some resistance to stains and dirt as well.
Really like these. Only problem was not enough arch support.
