I use these boots for field work performing restoration and conservation work in everything from wetlands to forests. The waterproofing has performed the best I have ever experienced with work boots. The tread pattern has also proven effective on all the terrain I’ve encountered. Unfortunately, the soles are already showing peeling damage on the sides, and the laces have broken once after about two months of use. I can’t recommend them for hard field work but they would probably do very well for most hiking uses.
