People Footwear Rio, Unisex Adult Shoe - Mariner Blue/Cloud Grey, Mens 9 Review

I have sneakers from People's Footwear and am very pleased with them. These loafers, however, are somewhat disappointing. They have a very tight fit if worn with socks. Tight to the point of being uncomfortable. The fit is better if worn without socks, but is still on the tight side and not nearly as comfortable as their sneaker fit.The toe area slants down and doesn't leave enough comfort room. They are also tight in terms of width, even though these are the same medium width as their sneakers. There's some cushioning but not enough to provide good support and shock absorption.On the plus side, they are very easy to care for -- just wash them when they get dirty and you're good to go. There's ample ventilation on the sides. The back is sufficiently stiff to allow me to put these on hands-free -- in other words, a true slip-on.While their sneakers are 5 star performers, this is, at best, a 3 star (average) loafer. They are not a shoe I would recommend unless it's possible to get them a half-size up in size (and even then the narrow width and lack of toe room are significant negatives).

This brand is now one of my new favorites ... their shoes are made of a durable foam rubber, which can be worn at the beach, around town, on the deck of a boat and pretty much anywhere. They slip on and off super easy but unlike leather boat shoes which can flop around and be awkward and clunky, these fit more like socks, so you can literally run in them, if needed ... but they are almost as comfortable as flip flops or sneakers for walking around.The style is fantastic and you've never guess it was foam rubber when looking at it. They look great with both shorts or jeans. The best part is how easy they are to take care of. You case wash them off with a hose, wear them to a sandy beach, in the ocean or lake water, etc. They wipe clean and are well ventilated, so you don't have to worry about taking them off in the water. They won't get heavy or smelly when wet, like a canvas/cloth sneaker but won't come off in the water or break, like a flip flop will.They are also super lightweight and have ridges on the inside where your foot rests, so it feels nice and relaxing when you walk ... almost like a massage. These are dark navy with a white bottom.The only thing I am not thrilled about is that the area which rests against the top of your foot rests against my upper arch which can make wearing them a bit fatiguing. I wear a size 12 in most sneakers and size 13 in most dress shoes. These only go up to size 12. They fit snugly, like socks almost minus the bit of tightness in the upper part. I have a pair in white and a pair in navy and Iove these shoes and this brand!I will order more and if you are looking for a comfy vacation or beach shoe for all weather, you won't find a more versatile stylish shoe. So much better looking than Crocs but just as comfortable.

Confession: I am a woman. A woman who often orders men's shoes because my feet are big enough (I fit men's size 8) and men's shoes are often more wide and comfortable. Unfortunately, these loafers were a bust. I was hoping they would be nice beach or lake shoes but they were incredibly uncomfortable.The issue? Tightness.The material these shoes are made of is very rigid. No give or stretchiness to accommodate odd shaped or sized feet. This means your foot has to be smaller or just right for the way the shoe is designed - which is very narrow on the sides and on top. I normally have no problem with men's shoes and don't even have to order a wide in men's, but this shoe did not even come close to fitting and was terribly uncomfortable. As for the quality of the material; from what I could tell it was decent and lightweight. Might be worth it if you can fit the shoe, but I think that will only be a few people.Overall - would not recommend this shoe.

This shoe runs a full size too small. It is best for a narrow foot too.I had to give this to a family member because it was way too small for me or my partner.The quality is good.The style is attractive.Would make a great pool shoe.The fit is terrible as it is.

So I am the type of person that can wear a Size 8 or Size 9 but usually preferred Size 9 for that little extra room for my feet. It's just a personal preference but I do like just a little room for my feet to move around in a Size 9 :). Since they did not have a Size 9 available at the time, I decided to go with the size 8 instead because I won't be wearing socks with these so they should be fine. Well, as far as length, they fit my feet ok with zero, not a lot of extra room left. The top and width feel really snug, so if you have wide or bigger (not longer) feet, these might feel really tight for you and harder to slip on or off. I mean, I can still wear these around town with no issue, it just takes a little time for my feet to break into these. The EVA Foam material on the insoles is not that thick but should be fine for people that do not have sensitive heels since the bottom of these shoes feels a lot harder for me, they feel like some kind of hardened rubber, that are made to last a little longer against wear and tear, I supposed. I will probably add another layer of insoles just in case though to make them more shock absorbent, again, just my personal preference. But overall, these are great for the Summertimes, very water-friendly, easy to wash and dry and the holes or cutouts on the top side helps with air circulation and odor elimination. I will get these in Size 9 next time when these wear out. Love the Style with Blue and White contrasting colors.
