This is the second pair of these shoes for me. The soles are sturdy to give you more power. I use them on my Peloton and my outdoor mountain bike.
Appears to be a well-made shoe and quite comfortable; unfortunately, the size I needed was not in stock and I tried a half size larger, which ended up being slightly too large. I have another pair of PI X-Alps in a similar but older model (no longer available) and these seem to fit the same. I typically wear an 8.5 in most street shoes but need a 41 in the MTB shoes by PI. Loved the red color; wish that more women's MTB shoes were made in brighter colors as not everyone wants black.
I bought the shoes right before racing a two day enduro rave with quite a bit of long transitions and some hike a bike sections. Shoes worked awesome. Felt great and I love the coral color too. I usually wear between a 7 1/2 and an eight, and I’m glad I ordered the eight. I little tight in the front of the foot at first but the broke in really quickly.
Runs super small!! I wear a EU38 in almost all other cycling shoes. Ordered a 38 in these and they were way too short! Returned and went up a full size to a 39, and they were still too small! In addition to being to short again they were also uncomfortably narrow. Returned as soon as I tried them on.I also disliked that the Cleat plate on the sole isn't adjustable for moving up/down. As the only position possible for the cleat would have been to low on the ball of my foot.Would not recommendA real bummer, i love pearl izumi, and was really looking forward to the vibram soles for the local terrain.Highly disappointed
I was looking for a shoe that I could wear on the mountain and the road. These shoes are perfect for both! I have wide feet and no hot spots or numbness when riding. I LOVE the cobra locking/tightening system which is really fast for in/out of the shoe. Well worth the money spent as they are a quality product.
I was hopeful. They were too small and narrow. I also had concerns over the longevity of the cable closure.
Great pair of shoes, I have a more narrow foot and the right shoe tends to rub if I wear thicker socks. I’m a rec rider on a hybrid bike with spd clips (not included). Great shoe fits true to size, great to walk around on pavement or trails when I reach my destination. Definitely would buy again.
Excellent shoes. I have both lock in, and without. The boa is a plus. I ride outside. Couldn't ask for a better shoe.
