Use the arch supports that came with the boots. Can take my hour to hour and half walks without plantar fasciitis pain. Recommend this product.
These. Boots are sturdy on ankle and true to size
Well made and comfortable. Feet are very happy!
i truly like the shoes, but it was recommended I get a size larger. They are too large, but have put both inserts in them. It helps.
Traveling to Africa and have walking all over airports with a heavy backpack. But my feet feel amazing. I love these boots.
True to size. Most comfortable hiking boots ever, right from the start. I wear them even when I’m not hiking.
This is a review as a hiking boot, not an orthopedic shoe.Cons: tongue of shoe is not gusseted, so that sand, dirt, snow can get in.Waterproofing is limited by all the stitching. If you walk though wet grass or a shallow puddle and toes of boot gets wet, your feet will stay dry. Rain, walking in snow, deeper puddle - feet get soaked.Lacing starts fairly far back on mid foot. So not possible to secure forefoot if conditions warrant. Also means gaiters don’t work optimally.I got a nasty blister on my heel where the insole heel cup met boot - kind of a ridge.Soles don't have lugs; fairly flat soles. But grippy material quite good on dry rock.Pros: comfortable! My 70 year old feet are a mess - arthritis & fractures & usually don’t fit regular boots &/or ache by the end of day. I’ve consistently hiked in these 16+ miles/day with full pack and feet still ok.They take trail crampons/microspikes without problem.I wish boots were a little more "technical" but these are a possible solution for thru hikers with bad/hard to fit feet.
My daughter actually likes these! We have a hard time getting my daughter shoes. She has wide balls of her feet and a high instep/ arch and narrow heel. She may actually go hiking with us now! Thanks orthofeet!
