I received this boot as a gift for Christmas 2023. All the pictures included in this review were taken November of the same year. I wore these boots at least 3 times a week throughout the year. To give you an idea of the kind of use they received, I live in a major city in the northeast, and I work from home. These boots did see some time on trails and outdoors. Most of their use has been on pavement. I also do some light handyman work around the house. These boots were oiled once during this year.As you can see from the pictures, these boots have broken in well, which I like. The soles have not done well. They've lost most of their tread and don't provide all that much grip anymore. As for the long term waterproofness of these boots, it's limited to the amount of water that the leather can absorb without making your feet wet. You'd be better off with some kind of waterproofing spray (ideally a different pair of boots). The most abuse these boots saw was a 12 mile round trip hike this September. There was some occasional rain, 1000 ft elevation change, and the terrain was rocky. After this trip, my feet were as sore as I can remember in the last few years.I wouldn't recommend these boots. For $100 they didn't last a full year, and they were worn casually about 85% of the time.
