The Northside Boy's Renegade 409 Mid Calf Boot is designed to make outdoor adventures comfortable and enjoyable for your little one. Crafted by Northside, a company with a rich history since 1985 based in Marysville, Washington, these boots embody the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, combining functionality with style in an attractive tan camo pattern.
Constructed with a waterproof suede upper and Daybreak Camo nylon panels, these boots not only look good but also keep your child's feet dry thanks to the seam-sealed waterproof membrane. The addition of a topical spray further enhances their water-repelling abilities, ensuring that the outside of the shoe stays drier during playtime in wet conditions.

When it comes to outdoor footwear for kids, the Northside Boy's Renegade 409 Mid Calf Boot stands out with its impressive range of features. The waterproof nature of the boot is particularly noteworthy, making them an excellent choice for children who love to splash in puddles or play in snow. Parents can have peace of mind knowing their child's feet will stay dry during even the wettest conditions.
The insulation provided by the 400 grams of Thinsulate is remarkable, allowing these boots to maintain a thermal rating of -40°F. This means that whether it's a chilly autumn hike or playing in the winter snow, these boots help keep tiny toes warm and cozy.
The TPR traction outsole is another highlight, as it offers great grip, which is crucial for ensuring safety while kids run around outdoors. Moreover, the PVC heel stabilizer adds a level of support, helping younger feet learn proper footing while they explore.
On the flip side, it’s worth mentioning that some users have reported a longer break-in period before achieving maximum comfort. This might require patience for both parents and kids alike. Additionally, while the tan camo design is appealing, some may find a desire for more color options.
In summary, if you're searching for a reliable, waterproof, warm, and stylish boot for your child, the Northside Boy's Renegade 409 Mid Calf Boot is well worth considering. It represents a solid investment for outdoor fun, equipped with essential features to handle various elements.

Bought these for my 10 year old son. He absolutely loved them. We went on an early spring 3 day 2 night camping/hiking trip and it ranged from the low 30s at night to mid 60s during the day. He stayed warm and dry in them and raved the entire trip about how comfortable they were. He did have an adequate hiking sock for this and that makes a world of difference as well. We put just over 15 miles on these boots over the 3 days. He generally wears a size 5 but is growing quickly. With the heavy sock we opted to buy a size 6. They fit well and he had no rubbing issues. Hoping to get at least a full season, maybe two out of them but hard telling as fast as kids grow. We had no lace or eyelet issues as mentioned in some of the other reviews. Time will tell but as of right now, I am very happy with the purchase.
Bought these for my 12 year old daughter for an outdoor school trip where they would be hiking every day in colder weather. She said they were great. We just spent a week in Arizona, where we got 4” of snow. She wore them to play in the snow, they kept her feet dry. We then hiked 6 miles yesterday in mud, dirt, snow and ice in Sedona and they were comfortable, kept her feet warm and she loves them. I’m going to be buying my son a pair. Awesome purchase worth every penny.
These run a little bit small got a 7.5 fits like 7
No negatives on the durability and material quality. Ordered a size Youth 4 and it fits more like a youth 5. still kept them since the kid will eventually use a Size 5. Bought them for Thirty 5 bucks and when i went to buy a second pair the merchant had raised the price to fifty 5 bucks. WTF move is that.
My son absolutely loves these. He wears them everyday even to school so I’d say they are comfortable. I ordered a size up and glad that I did because they fit just right and his toe is close to the end.
Price and quality
My son isn't used to the height, but he started wearing them camping to break them in. They are holding up good. A little too big so I don't think they are true to size, but thats ok.
This boot was purchased for my son's Birthday. They fit well and he really likes them. Of course they need to be broke in but overall he said that they are very comfortable. We recommend buying this item.
