Out of the box, it is the most comfortable sandal I have ever owned. The heel strap stays put; the toe and arch/top of foot straps are adjustable for a custom, comfortable fit.
I opened the box and thought, "my God these are ugly." and intended to send them back immediately. But then, I put them on and now I have the tan pair and the black pair. They are probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. Support in all the right places. The straps fit snug, no rubbing. I could ask for a better shoe. Was totally worth the aesthetic sacrifice.
Recently purchased a second pair for a 3-week Europe trip. I wore them for a weekend getaway first to break them in first and they were stiff and the bottom of my foot felt rough afterwards. Took a chance and brought them to Europe anyway because my last pair were so great. So glad I did because they were just fantastic! My feet feel supported all day long. Just love them!
I purchased these SPECIFICALLY because the insole is COMPLETELY removable. I had no issues inserting my custom orthotics in place of the original insole. One thing to note- I wore these sandals as purchased for about a month and the original insoles DID conform to my feet- but since I have flat feet they were not providing the support needed after several weeks of wear.
Naots are the only sandal I have found that allow me to remove the insole and replace it with my orthotics, so I have been wearing these for years. I wish they would make a dressier white sandal that handles orthotics. I bought these to replace navy sandals I've been wearing most of the summer for years. The sandals still look fine, but I thought that , perhaps like my walking shoes that need replacing biannually as the cushioning loses some of its softness, it was time for another pair.If you've never worn Naots and have orthotics, if your orthotic isn't as long as the cork insole you remove, it's easy to cut the cork insole to fit the space between it and the toe of the sandal.
Well made, and the Velcro straps make them fit perfectly, even if you have narrow feet. Arrived on time, well packaged.
This is the latest pair of Naot sandals I've purchased and they are as comfortable as my three other pairs. They needed no break-in time and provide me with the arch support necessary to be on my feet all day. My expectation is that they will hold up for many years to come.
I have one now shoes for years. This is the first pair that I have been truly disappointed I am. The outer part of the straps seem to be made of fabric, gold threads. Although that is the name of the shoe, I assumed that the was leather made to look like the threads.Hopefully the fabric won’t stain.
