So like everyone else has said these are awesome. They are produced by Mil-Tech who have done cheaper reproductions for historical re-enactments for years. Mil-Tech has really stepped up their game in recent years and these booths are an excellent example of the quality they're putting out these days.Ok so size: I wear an 11 combat boot and shoe. I got an 11 and yes there's a tiny bit of room between my toes and the front of the boot but that's a good thing. Also they are nice and roomy so you can add a good insole (I highly recommend Timberland anti-fatigue insoles here on Amazon). With the insole in they got PERFECTLY. If you're a 10.5 I'd go 10, but if you're an 11 go 11.Mine shipped from Epic Militaria in England but showed up in days, I was kind of amazed. The quality is excellent, the leather is great, the laces are the proper color of the issue ones in the US military in WWII. The soles are rubber and faithful reproductions of the Type Two Service Shoe (or Russets are they were referred to). The stitching is really well done, and basically I'd put these up against the $400 ones from ATF or LB. I used mink oil on the interior of the uppers on mine to protect and soften them. (Neatsfoot oil is great but will significantly darken the leather). You really don't need to oil these but it helps the breaking in process and comfort.Phew long review, but as others have said if you're thinking of getting a pair, these are fantastic.
These are for my husband. For reenacting. He ordered the size he normally wears. The boots came in a very good timely fashion. Beautiful boots. We could see right away that they were made well. They are made very well. And the sole is great. Things were sewn well. They fit so well, he was able to wear them the same day, all day. He loves them.
These WWII US Army service shoes run at lease a full size larger than you normal size. Count on it. I normally wear a size 10. In this shoe a size nine fits me with still enough room for a pair of the thin Dr. Scholl inserts. Very comfortable and I have found them not hard to break in. Highly recommended.
I initially was sent the correct size... for the U.K.. the seller was more than accommodating to make it right. Now with the correct US size, I’m actually very impressed with the craftsmanship. These are NOT cheap costume shoes, but very well-made, period-specific footwear. They’re stiff as a board when new, but just like a baseball mit, after oiling and a bit of wear, they “fit like a glove”. Quality all around. Do not expect these to be a comfortable, out of the box, ready to work hiking boot. Again, they are period specific and need to be broken in. If you’re considering ordering a pair, do it now.
These boots are great! Very high quality and hand made. Great for a re enactor, someone looking for some excellent hiking boots or work boots or even as their primary footwear. As made from high quality leather, they do require a little breaking in. But what boots don't? Since I received them and started wearing them I have gotten a lot of compliments especially from the ladies ; ) I would definitely recommend buying these boots, no complaints what soever. Top notch boots.
I wear a 9M, however, I read that the sizes run small. I bought a 10M. The boots are Army leather, meaning, they will last forever and buying bigger will cut down on the "break-in" process.
Have worn for several weeks now, still breaking in-- stiff, sturdy leather,Great communications with seller.
