Wore these shoes for a 14 mile hike in Texas. Uphill & downhill through dusty paths and rocky trails and even wading through a spring to get to the trail these shoes were comfortable and I never once had any blisters ! I will take these shoes on longer hikes that we plan to do in Arizon.
Love the sole for winter walking
I've always liked the Merrell Jungle Mocs, but the soles seem to wear out within a season of cold-weather walking. I decided to try these because they have a rubber sole. Although they are a bit tight to pull on and I definitely need the little strap to help, they are warm and the sole's grip on dicey pavement is very good. They are very comfortable and I could walk in these a long time.
On the plus side, the shoes are easy to put on/take off due to the neoprene ankle, and they are comfortable even on our 2-3 mile walks. Also nice enough to wear in town, and the sole has good traction. Warm enough for the usual chilly/windy/wet Pacific Northwest weather, although in snow, I switch to a higher ankle boot. A slight minus - I hoped the color would turn out to be a deeper marron, but it's more mauve-pink (picture is fairly accurate). Not my personal favorite, but the only one in my size, and it serves the purpose, so I'll learn to like it.
