Comfort: One of the most praised features is the out-of-the-box comfort. The Kinetic Fit ADVANCED insole offers an impressive level of support, which is particularly beneficial for those who plan on spending extended hours on their feet.
Durability: With a combination of pigskin leather and mesh, these boots are built to withstand the rigors of outdoor activities. Users have reported that they hold up well even in rough conditions, proving their worth as a long-term investment.
Traction: The Vibram TC5+ rubber sole provides excellent grip on varied surfaces, from rocky trails to muddy paths. Whether you're navigating steep inclines or slippery descents, you can count on reliable footing.
Versatility: While designed for hiking, the Moab 3's versatile design allows them to transition seamlessly into casual wear. Their stylish appearance means you won't look out of place when heading to a café post-hike.
On the flip side, some users mention that the boots may feel slightly heavier than other models, especially for those accustomed to lighter footwear. Additionally, a short break-in period might be needed for true comfort, but this varies from person to person.

This boots are light weight, and fit as expected. I have wide feet, I often have to size up to get shoes that fit. I got these in 11.5 wide. They fit my foot exactly, and because my foot is not crammed up in the toe box, my feet stay a little cooler. It is important to have the boots laced properly, or your foot can slide a little.I find the footing to be solid, even on sandy south FL soil. I hiked some river trails with my child and his scout troop. I had very solid footing, and I was even able to help others, and confidently traverse everything I came across. it is a fairly powerful feeling to be that confident in your footing. I am used to sneakers, so this was a huge upgrade to me.I found these boots comfortable, but with a caveat. These are not crocks or Uggs comfortable. They don't offer a squishy soft ride. These are utility comfortable. They are form fitting to my arch, and they are designed, first and foremost for traction. If you need soft, these are not the droids you're looking for.I really appreciate the breathability, fit, traction, comfort, and over all aesthetic. These are 5 star in my book. I will probably even wear them in settings where all the features are not needed.
Merrell shoes are wonderful. They last a long time, they're roomy for your toes, very comfortable from day 1.
These boots are great for a casual hike. I'm not qualified to comment on how they would hold up on mountaineering or very long hikes, but for most people they are a great buy. I got these at a great price and I am very happy with them.Even with the padding, I would recommend using wool socks like "Fits" brand or "Smartwool" - something with at least 70% merino wool. Even in the summer you can wear them because they wick sweat away and are antimicrobial so they won't stink. Definitely a good idea if you are wearing boots for the first time or for a longer hike.Pros:- Surprisingly light weight yet also sturdy- Very comfortable and generous padding on the inside - comfortable even on first wear for 5 mile hike with hills- The grip seems to be quite good. I didn't slip even on muddy and wet rocks while others around me did.- They do seem to be waterproof up to a few inches of puddles. I didn't test them totally submerged up to the top of the boot though.Cons:- They aren't the most fashionable boots, but that makes it easier to get them muddy and not care too much.
These high-top shoes are everything I've come to expect from Merrell. Quality, fit, comfort, styling, and great traction on the trails. My only con: the tongue of shoe needs to be higher so the laces aren't so close to the top. I work around this by running the lace over the top of the hook. This results in the tie being lower on the shoe.
Great ankle-high boot for hot weather hiking with a light pack or just kicking around town. Unlike many light hikers, these have a Vibram sole that you won't feel rocks through. Merrell boots fit my foot very well, so I find these to be comfortable for all-day use. Durable construction, well-ventilated, no break-in.
I'm 6'3" and 300 pounds, Merrell never fails to give me support and comfort right out of the box day 1.I have been buying Merrill for years and toss them out because I wear them uneven because of my job.Standing on concrete and walking 6k to 10k steps a day on the job, up and down stairs and ladders as an electrician. These boots have ben a joy to wear. What I likeLight weightGood lookingGood supportGood valueDurableGood ventilation
I wear these nearly everyday and am very happy with the product. True to size fit, quality construction, near nonslip lug sole, looks nice. These boots are very light and comfortable to wear even on hard surfaces over eight hours. I rarely have foot/ leg fatigue after wearing these. I will be purchasing another pair a half size larger for winter activities wearing wool socks. I'd recommend these for anyone.
Merrell boots, especially the Moab, are really the most comfy lightweight hikers made, in my humble opinion. I have work many others, but every few years when I upgrade this boot, I'm reminded just how well they are made. In a world of diminishing quality in almost every shoe, pant, shirt, etc., Merrell has continued to provide outstanding quality & workmanship in their products.
