i’m in construction. these things are comfortable and as tough as nails
Truth be told, I'm not a hard-core tradesman; I'm just program manager who occasionally has to be at construction sites. So my last pair of safety shoes lasted 20 years. Well, it was time for a new pair so I did a little research looking for something that was both comfortable and rugged (as I live in Northern New England). These certainly fit the bill. The fit is great, they're built well without weighing a ton, and are comfortable enough to wear all day without fatigue or blisters. I think they also look pretty sharp too. They are a little pricey, but in this case you seem to get what you pay for. I'd recommend them.
We were looking for a good workshoe for my fiancée. That was also waterproof and could keep his feet dry and nonslip. His first night home after working. He said his feet felt great they were dry, and fit perfectly! They are durable and great quality. I think we found his forever work shoe!
These boots were comfortable out of the box but I wanted to use them a while before writing a review to see how they held up.I work in a nursery and purchased these steel toe boots after dropping a tree, stump first, onto my foot. I didn't know how much I would like them due to the weight of the steel toe. They were very comfortable out of the box and required no break-in period. I primarily work outside in central PA. I've been wearing these boots for three seasons (fall, winter, spring) of the last two years and I have no complaints. These boots are so comfortable that although they are heavy, due to the steel toe, they are the first pair of footwear that I grab when leaving the house. The only footwear that I own that are more comfortable than these boots is a pair of Keen Newport sandals which I can't wear to work.
I mostly hike in rugged / extreme rocky and mountainous desert terrain in my home state of Southern New Mexico. And now recently retired, I hike everyday for at least 6 miles. This is the 4th pair of Keen's I've purchased the over the past 10 years. I've alway really liked these "Detroits", but after a year or so the tread starts pulling apart (as can be seen in the photo of my previous boots). As can be seen in the photo also, it appears they have now changed the tread design on the new pair. I think (and hope) this is an improvement- time will tell!
