Love these boots. Easy slip on and very comfortable to walk in all day! I had to get these because my others made my feet sore on bottom walking across frozen mud diets while taking care of my horses. My feet stay warm and dry. I bought size 11 because I wear 10.50 and wear big socks. I wanted to make sure I could pull them on. I have a high instep and wide calfs. The weather has been 10 degrees below 0 and highs of 9 degrees. They're perfect boots.
I needed a barn muck boot to replace my Muck boot brand "Chore" boots I got Dec 2018, and were poorly made, the seal on the seam was not well done, and water was seeping in. I've noticed the Muck boot brand has gone downhill in the last several years, so needed to try a new boot.So far these have been great. They fit well, the sole is reasonably supportive, I like the ability to tighten or loosen the top, and they don't have the seam like on the Muck boot that will leak. They've been through thick mud and snow, and so far I am very happy with them. Good grip on the snow, not too heavy but they do keep my feet warm. If you want to wear really heavy/thick socks, you may want to size up a little bit. I wear the thin wool socks, and my normal size is fine.
I have had these boots for 3 years, and have worn them almost every day since the day I bought them! I use them to do my horse chores, and I also wear them walking the dogs in a park that has brambles and puddles. They are super comfortable, warm, and sufficiently stylish to wear them out when doing errands. I just ordered my second pair, but had to send them back because I mis-read the label on the size. They seem to run big (I'm a 7.5 but the 7 worked best for me). The best value!
I am a pretty solid 6.5 in most shoes, including from several other boot well-known branded boot companies. I noticed that other reviewers said they fit true to size, if not a little small, so I figured since I was in between sizes I'd size up. It must only run small for the larger sizes because the size 7 was way too big in both width and length, even with somewhat thicker socks.I did get some insoles and it was a better fit, but I ended up ordering a size 6 and they fit perfectly (which makes me think if you are a size 6 these will be a tad large). Overall they seem to be a well made shoe with solid construction and nice features but it might be a tricky fit if you are in the half sizes!
These boots are pretty comfortable for a waterproof boot. They only come in whole sizes, so if you are a half size you need to order the next whole size up and wear a thicker sock. The adjustment strap on the calf is convenient. Because they are waterproof, even a little sweating from your feet will cause some dampness inside. The insoles lift out so you can dry the boots out. I haven't used them am huge amount, but so far they are holding up.
Initially I loved these boots. But after 2 months of wearing the cheap, thin insoles that are inexplicably NOT glued inside the boot wrinkled and abraded the sole of my foot, causing open wounds. I'd return these for a refund but am outside of the window so I guess now I have to spend another $30 for decent insoles and swap them out myself. It's a shame because what seems to be an otherwise well made boot, cut corners like this inside. This half-assed Walmart quality should cost around $50 / pair, not $129.
Highly recommend this flexible, comfortable waterproof boot. Perfect for the wet Alaska days full of rain/slush/sleet or shoreline walks involving tide pools and seaweed slush. With a pair of good wool socks and supportive insoles, this boot is very flexible and keeps you dry. Only draw back I've noticed is if you are doing any heavy hiking or walking in them, they don't breath particularly well, so natural fiber socks are vital in keeping sweat from causing problems on your feet. Everyone raves about extra-tuffs for standard Alaska wear, but I found they lacked needed foot support, even with insoles. If you pronate, slide in a pair of Orthaheel (Vionic) and these will be supportive and comfortable. For comparison purposes, I wear a 7.5 in Brooks athletic shoes and ended up with a 7 in this boot. Fits great.
My wife asked for a good pair of rubber boots for the lease. So I thought let’s go all out since she never asks!! Boy were we surprised!! They were a great price, style, comfort and fit!! I hit this one out of the park with this selection!! Happy wife, happy life!! I Highly recommend!!
