These are my go-to shoes. Unless I need to wear sneakers or a specialized shoe, these are the ones I put on. They are comfortable walking, standing, and driving. I wear them for casual and business functions. Paired with wool socks, they do a great job of keeping my feet warm.I am hard on shoes, and I tend to walk on the outside of my foot (supinate). These seem to provide stability and correct my foot position as well.I teach first aid and Wilderness first aid, and speak at conferences and such, and I find these shoes to be perfect in those situations as well. They are truly utility boots. After 2 years of moderate to heavy use, they are not nearly ready to be replaced.I haven't put any oil on them in at least a year- I kind of like the distressed look. You can see how hard-wearing they are from my photos.
These are my first pull on boots of this kind and I really love this specific pair. I tried a different brand first but returned because I prefer a wide toe box and these are a perfect fit for me. Because of the lack of laces I’d try and get a somewhat snug fit, though that changes from morning to end of day. I’ve worked in these for about a month in a light-moderate setting, and my only discomfort has been on ladders with very narrow rungs (which would probably be bad with most boots), so not a super rigid sole. Very light weight for their ruggedness, very walkable, the kind of boots you sometimes don’t want to take off. They seem like they will hold up well and have decent water resistant, plus not really anywhere for things to get stuck unless they get in top. Good for anything except I imagine heavier construction work.
I am a huge Keen work boot and shoe fan. I've had these Keen boots for a year now. I wear them mainly during fall and winter to work or out to dinner. I replaced the flimsy insoles with a slightly thicker one for more support and cushion. Before wearing in the rain and snow, I treated the leather with Obenauf's Leather oil. That darkened the leather but made it more water resistant and better looking. My wife likes them with my jeans. So it's overall, it's a great looking, comfortable casual boot.
The last is true to Keen sizing, right on the nose. These are very comfortable and easy to put on and take off. However, these are a high volume fit, meaning top to bottom they are on the loose side. My foot doesn't slide forward and back but as an example the heel and mid-step are not secure. I don't think I'd wear these as work shoes, but for casual wear they are great.I've wet them a bit a few times and it helps them conform and they have snugged a bit with some wear. These fit more like a cowboy boot or wellington.
Good fit, good weight, comfortable and well made
Maybe a manufacturer’s defect, but the stitching was loose and the leather had a hole in it where it met the sole. Otherwise a good looking boot. Good leather. Thick sole.
I've never tried this brand so I don't know how long they will last but there was no break-in period with these shoes. I'm a mill worker and pull 10 hour shifts 5 days a week and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. Well worth the extra $60 I was going to spend on my typical Georgia boots that wear out too fast.
I've bought several brands in the past ranging in price, material, and quality and nothing compares to the comfort and look of these. I'm a big guy @ 325# and these have been comfortable all day everyday in and out of the shop yet casual enough for every day. Love'em!
