Detailed Review

The KEEN Utility Men's Louisville 6" Steel Toe Waterproof Work Boot stands out in the crowded work boot market thanks to its thoughtful design. The asymmetrical steel toes provide added protection without compromising comfort. You will appreciate the KEEN.DRY waterproof membrane, which guarantees your feet stay dry even in wet conditions. The removable comfort footbed allows you to customize the support based on your preferences, making these boots ideal for long hours on the job. Additionally, the non-marking and oil-resistant outsole ensures that you have a stable footing on slippery surfaces, enhancing workplace safety.

However, it's worth noting that some users may find these boots heavier compared to other options available. Also, while breaking in may take some time, the final comfort level achieved is usually well worth the initial effort. Overall, if you are working in challenging environments where both safety and comfort are paramount, the KEEN Utility Men's Louisville boots make an excellent choice.

Spent the money on your feet

Great boots. I wear a 15w and keens are a great fit. These have rubber wrapping the top of the steel toe so it eleminates toe rub through. Oil tamed leather and viburum sole, water proof and holding up great. I'm on my feet all day and have plantar fasciitis and heel Spurs, the custom orthotics fit fine and the boot mid gives good support. I have been in these every day for 4 months and have had minimal issues. My only complaint is one of the lace hooks came off in the first week from a rivet that wasn't centered when it was expanded. This did not sour me on the boots. Other wise the cut, quality, fit, and finish are great on these boots.Spend money on your feet, you'll miss them when they're used up.

... Redwings wearer for 20 years but have been repeatedly disappointed in their declining quality in recent years

I've been a Redwings wearer for 20 years but have been repeatedly disappointed in their declining quality in recent years. I've had good luck with Keen hiking boots so I decided to give these a shot sight unseen and I'm glad that I did. These boots are exceedingly comfortable right out of the box which is something I've never experienced in a work boot before. In just a few days they feel like you've been wearing them for months. The quality appears to be top notch in all regards and your feet feel well protected. The soles have great traction and are non slip which I find to be critical in a work boot. I work in a shipyard and as anyone that has done that sort of work knows - it is an unforgiving environment that punishes clothing and footgear. These boots seem like they'll be up to the task. I can't speak to their durability yet but I'm optimistic based upon their construction.

Keen work boots = unmatched comfort!

Started wearing these about a week ago. They're starting to get comfortable and broken in. Love how light these are for steel toe, compared to the Keen Cleveland steel toe boots that I've worn pretty much everyday for the last 3 years. This is my 3rd pair of Keen boots, and I will probably be a Keen consumer for life. They are that good! Would have given 5 ⭐'s, but I'm a little concerned about the laces holding up over time...they are very noticeably smaller (half the thickness..see pic) of the laces that came with my two previous pairs of boots. Hopefully this is not Keen trying to cut corners on the quality that they are known for.

Great durable boot depending on your profession

I have own these boots for 4 years, replaced the insole twice. I work electrical maintenance inside a factory. I also wear these as my winter boot for the snow. These boots have been great for me. The only reason I am replacing them is that the interior fabric around the ankle is startimg to wear out.I really don't understand how these boots last so short for other people. I guess I'm just not hard on my boots. For example I have a picture of the shoe lace, that is the only spot of wear on the original shoe lace that came with the boot, and that is just from tying and untying it for 4 years. There isn't any other wear on them. I loved these boots, and I am buying another pair.

Dependable

Fabulous boot. My 3rd pair of Keens 2nd model. I had the Mt Vernon 2x before. It was a great looking boot, but this is more comfortable by far. They run an oversize width as regular and fit my wider size 11 feet. Very happy. Thank you Keen for making a dependable predictable boot!

Sturdy shoe for the workplace.. with a few issues.

I've tried numerous brands and styles of safety toe in my adult life. This is my first experience with Keen. I bought these as a replacement for my combat boots that I wore during the later part of my military career. I now work in a machine shop and I am on my feet, on oily concrete, for about 10 hours a day. Some days I'm walking nonstop, some days I'm standing in the same spot the entire time, some days I'm crouched, hunched, or on the trapeze 40 feet in the air on a beam. I needed a shoe that could handle all of that without killing my feet/legs/back. The two biggest reasons for buying these are my back/leg pain from my old ones, and with winter approaching, the slippery heel of the combat boots. Those things might as well be ice skates.I've had these for several weeks now. Out of the box, I could tell they are going to last a while. It had nice thick, sturdy leather, a scuff resistant material covering the toe and lower arch, and a good tread. The insole seemed okay at the time. Upon trying them on, they fit well but didn't feel much different than my old boots in the comfort category. I figured they just needed to be broken in.On the first day at work with them, I noticed several things. I used a hiker's lacing to keep my heel as far back as possible because they were a little snugger around the toe than anticipated.. bad idea. The "padding" at the top of the shoe put a nice sized indent into my achilles that was almost too painful to bear after 10 hours of wear. I also noticed the heaviness and bulk of the shoe, most likely a product of it's sturdy construction. There is so much padding around the ankle that wearing normal slacks can be annoying when they ride up on top of the shoe after kneeling or getting out of the car. Day two was somewhat better. I used a modified hiker's lace to give me a little more room. Unfortunately that made the bunching of the pant leg a little worse. After several days of adjusting, as well as them breaking in a little (very stiff leather at first), they are actually nice to wear. However, even after several weeks, I still suffered from back and foot pain at the end of the day. I turned my attention to the insole. After pulling the removable one out a few days ago, I noticed it was very worn and now hard as a rock. I immediately hopped online and ordered a pair of gels. I got them today so stay tuned on an update on that. After a short test drive this afternoon, the gels seem, by far, way more comfortable than the original inserts. I'll keep you posted.Pros:- Well built and sturdy- Great slip resistance- Excellent foot protection (saved mine a few times already) and scuff resistance- Look cool (I've gotten several positive comments)Cons:- Heavy and bulky- Horrible "foot bed" (insole)- Very long break in time- Price (I payed $147)Bottom line:So far, overall, these are just okay. If you want a shoe that will protect your tootsies and still look nice in a hostile environment, these might be a good option, but if you are looking for out-of-the-box comfort, I say look elsewhere.

Worth the money.

I had a pair of keens previously and wore them out on the biggest construction job of 2020 Intels fab 42 project . I was on my feet ten hours a day 6 days a week. Keen was a popular boot on this site because they are super comfortable was the general consesus. As 2020 came to a conclusion I found myself out in the desert of Arizona averaging hiking time of 20 hours a week . Mind you that's mostly in the superstition mountains some of the most rugged terrain in America. So I completely killed the shoes in a years time putting them through a lot. Bottom line comfortable affordable boots . They aren't going to last a lifetime but you get what you pay for and keen delivers on the money. A lot of folks nit picking wanting Porsche options package on a ford probe . I m a return customer.
