The KEEN Utility Men's Independence 6" Leather Waterproof Soft Toe Work Boots excel in several areas that matter most to workers in demanding environments. Firstly, the comfort level ranks high—thanks to the innovative KEEN Luftcell midsole that feels virtually weightless underfoot. You'll appreciate this especially during long shifts spent on hard surfaces.
Next, consider the durability and construction. With waterproof leather and reinforced stitching, these boots stand up to the rigors of construction or landscaping work. You won't have to worry about wet feet or premature wear. The traction provided by the outsole is impressive, ensuring you can navigate oily or slippery surfaces safely.
On the downside, while these boots are a quality investment, the initial cost may deter some potential buyers. Additionally, users have reported a brief break-in period before they reach peak comfort, which is something to factor in if you're looking for immediate relief.
In summary, if you're seeking a reliable pair of work boots that combine comfort, durability, and environmental consciousness, the KEEN Utility Independence 6" is an excellent choice. They provide not only protection at the workplace but also support a company dedicated to bettering communities through initiatives like Project Build.

Very good boots. My only suggestion for improvement would be a sturdier sole and or stronger shank.

I've been using this pair of Keen Independence Utility Boots for a few weeks now and I'm pretty impressed. I normally wear Merrell 10 Wide shoes and so I ordered a pair of 10 Wide boots. The toe box is large, to the point I feel like I could easily wear two pairs of socks on a cold day and be comfortable. I may have been able to wear a standard 10 from Keen too, in retrospect. While the boots were stiff initially, they've been breaking in and gaining flexibility as I use them. They're pretty comfortable as work boots, but I do think the insoles are on the basic side and could be upgraded if you're on your feet all day.I apologize for my photos being a little discolored with yellow pollen on the boots. The boots are a nice matte black finish and are holding up well. The shoelaces are nice and long, but are the type with basic plastic ends that will break down. Laces with metal ends might be a more durable match for the boots.
They fit perfectly. They were for my brother who has very wide feet. He found they very comfortable. I would purchase again in the future.
Love the fit and feel of these boots, they were replacing a pair of Irish Setter WingShooters that were making my feet get a rash. Lots of room in the tow box, nice heal lock, good foot orientation in the boot and feels more like a sneaker than a boot. Bonus, made in USA!I noticed the book hooks were really tight, the fit of the laces requires almost jamming them in there, unusual, as other brands don’t have it so snug a fit. On the plus side it makes it super snug custom fitted, the downside is that I suspect that tight fit is what caused the lace hook to go flying when I put them on this morning. Barely two weeks and already an issue? Disappointed, may reach out to the manufacturer and see what they say but most likely will just return them to Amazon. I really like the boot too, it’s a bummer that this happened, I need a snug fit and a missing lace hook is no good for that.
I am on my feet all day in the construction industry and these shoes are very comfortable. My feet get hot quickly and these shoes are nice and cool.Update: these shoes were great for a few months and then my right shoe developed a bubble at the ball of my foot. It seemed to be in the lining of the shoe. Soon after the left shoe developed a bubble at the tip of my big toe. Have no idea what it is or what caused it, but I can't wear the shoes anymore or it makes my feet sore.
Tried before I purchased several Keen models and width. Found these to be the most comfortable. Barely feel and resistance when standing on a roll pin ladder which is great. I like the toe protector that helps with wear and scratches especially when you drag your feet when on your knees moving around
Solid boot but for a taller boot it has very poor ankle support and what they have for support rubs your interior malleolus. The rear ankle support needs to be adjusted.
