I've tried on a lot of boots and even bought a few that just weren't quite right. I'm a contractor and these hiking boots are beyond perfect. Except for the cost of course but luckily I got them on sale. Buy these. Don't think anymore about it, just buy these.
Very Comfortable Made in US Fit perfectly
I do home construction for a living and depend on my feet so my shoes have to be top quality. These are my third pair of Keen shoes. The first pair lasted about a year with heavy everyday use so I decided to try another style and decided on these. All shoes feel good on carpeting and just walking around the house. The first day on the job with these I had them laced up and they began to hurt the top of my feet. I loosened them and want on about my day. Theses shoes are ok but I think I will go back to one of the other styles I had before.I'm not overly impressed with this style of Keen's. The Pittsburgh work shoes and the Targhee 2 are much more comfortable.
They fit me very well, but while I have wide feet, the standard width is plenty wide. I'd be swimming in the wide size. I like the lower key styling because they can also be worn on the street without screaming "hiking boot".
I have a Durand II pair that I have not been kind to on the trail for over 5 years. I do replace the insoles but the boot is solid. The Evo has the same sole but it’s lighter. It fits my feet perfectly as do all Keen boots.Update: All the above is true but after a short time I discovered these boots retain heat. A lot of heat. It got so bad I had a prickly sensation on my overheated feet. I was sorry to have to send them back but the heat was too much. Ordered the trusted Durand II.
In planning a big backpack trip (110 miles) this summer., I wanted a good mid-weight and comfortable boot with breathability. In the past, Keen's in a size 10 has fit perfectly right out of the box. However, In my last two attempts at purchasing Keen's, the sizing was WAY off. A 10 in this boot feels like an 8, with a smashed in toe box. Additionally, these boots are super heavy and not breathable. I do not recommend.
Second pair for me and I remain a big fan. Hiked 40 miles on trails in Donegal with this pair, much of it through wet bogs, and feet remained dry. For me, these boots have required minimal break in time. Highly recommend these boots.
Their light weight boot. Comfortable and fits right.
