This will be my third pair. Absolutely love this brand. I decide on boot with the different dogs on them ...adorable..comfortable.. Easy to get on and off..great for walk in woods..or snowy, rainy days ..well made..and your feet stay dry. They do run a little big..but wearing heavy socks work .
I loved that these were an elegant pattern for rain boots and that they were matte versus the super shiny duck boots you see everywhere else. Great for rain and covering your calves so you don’t get the weird ring of wet with the mid-calf boots. I have wide feet as well and these fit great so would recommend to anyone who generally wears wide sizes. Calf strap is adjustable which is also appreciated for wearing pants underneath. Only negative is that the boot itself is not very pliable so am concerned that it will tear over time since it’s not the easiest to walk longer distances with. Fine for work commute but would not wear for anything more strenuous than that.
4/17/23: These are great-looking boots and seem well-made and sturdy. (Will update if that proves to be untrue.).I will caution that they run a bit small… at least a full size by my reckoning. I bought a 9 for the sake of roominess with socks, and they fit like an 8 or maybe 8.5.Edit: Feb24I am so impressed with the quality of these boots. I’ve worn them for a good 4-1/2 - 5 months, every day so far, taking them off-and-on all day long, and except for some light scratching on the upper (not surprising given the abuse they’ve gotten overall), they’re still waterproof, unblemished, and well-soled. I don’t even think there’s any fading of the pattern, or any part of the sole that looks like it’s weakened. Ironically, I bought a second pair because I loved them so much and didn’t expect them to last more than a year … at this rate I may not unpack the second pair for years.Should’ve mentioned in the first review that I added a good insole, and that’s likely improved their comfort.
This is my second pair. My first pair lasted almost four years with daily wear in a wooded area. They never leaked. They accidentally got caught in a door and got a tear, otherwise they were still going strong. These boots are generously sized. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and have these in an 8. The adjustable back is a nice feature. I often wear them without socks and they are comfortable. They are easy to hose off if they get muddy or dirty. Mine are truly for walking in the wet, muddy, rainy, grassy, woods, fields - you name it. Not for fashion although they are cute. I’m not gentle with them. I’m extremely pleased with how well they hold up and the comfort while doing so.
I’m a size 7 and ordered a size 7. They were a little loose with regular socks , but when I changed to thicker socks, they were fine. The thing no one talks about is the absolute pain in the patutti it is to change the adjustment at the back of the leg. I struggled for about 10 minutes on each boot to get the gusset to slip through the very, very, very tight hole. I’m guessing that thing will never come off on its own. But even adjusted to the tightest position, I could still slid my leg in wearing regular pants. Overall, they fit well.
This is the third pair of Joules boots I have purchased and I love them. Between yardwork and irrigation, I use the crap out of them and they are cute to boot. One of my very favorite things about this brand are the adorable and sturdy boxes they come in. I use them to store ribbon and such, so I was SO, so, so sad that the box they came had tape residue all over it at was totally banged and torn up making it unusable. I am assuming it is because they were returned previously. The boots look ok though. I was tempted to take a star because of the box, but realized that would be totally unfair because the boots are seriously great. But the box though.... :(
I thought about buying Hunter boots, but was discouraged after reading the reviews and I found these! Who needs Hunter when these are available? I have thicker calves and love the adjustable calf feature. These are comfortable, not too heavy (easy to maneuver), and extra cute. My calves are a little O shaped but they look straight in these. My feet got a little cold when I tried them on, but a pair of insoles solved the problem.
These boots exceed my expectations. High quality, cute, comfortable, and good traction on the soles. Highly recommend! True to size.
