Its 8-inch height provides ample ankle support, and the full-grain leather exterior is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly durable, making it ideal for both work and play. The incorporation of the UltraDry waterproofing system ensures that your feet remain dry during unpredictable weather, while the Thinsulate Ultra insulation adds an extra layer of warmth for cooler climates.
Comfort is paramount with the Mesabi; the removable EVA footbed allows for personalized adjustments, and the steel shank delivers stability on uneven surfaces. Moreover, the heat-resistant soles are perfect for those who find themselves working on hot terrains, further enhancing the boot's versatility.
However, potential buyers should be aware that these boots can feel somewhat heavy compared to lighter alternatives, which could impact agility. These boots are amazing! I use them frequently outdoors and industrial environments. The boots have held up very well after 2 months of use. They stay waterproof in swamp environments which is a plus for me. The heels are sturdy, providing some nice custom with the insoles to help prevent fatigue. Love these boots and definitely recommend getting it a half size bigger.
In short; buy these! Absolutely no regrets. Will buy a new pair IF these ever wear out.Purchased them Oct 13th of 21. It is now August 18th 22.After almost a year of wearing these boots in a lumber yard 5 days a week 11 hour shifts on my feet practically the whole time I can honestly say these boots are worth every penny. They do fit snug. I usually wear a 12w and had to go with a 13w. 12w was small enough to feel as though it was cutting off circulation in my feet. One size up and they're perfect. They did end up getting cracks in them shown in the first picture. Doesnt seem to be getting worse and not causing issues. The leather on the toes started tearing but that's pretty normal for steel toe boots in my line of work. Nothing the toe guards didn't fix.Waterproofing I wore them for a day and after realizing I was keeping them rubbed them down with boot grease. Never tested it before rubbing em down.I walk on the outside of my feet so tread usually wares down quickly but these are holding up better than most boots I've purchased. "Cough - Danners suck - cough"
It seems to me that the sizing of shoes in general appears to be getting smaller in the context that I now wear a nine when I used to wear an eight or 8 and a half. That being said, so glad I ordered the size 9, it’s snug but in a very good comfortable way. Plenty of room, the snugness for me translates into greater support all around. I wore a single pair of padded cotton socks…worked well, no bunching because of, I believe, the snug fit.In addition, I wore them on several hiking trips in the woods, 3, 5, 7 miles or so and absolutely no blisters or hot spots…incredibly amazing for me personally. They are pretty stiff if not rigid when you first put them on, but they quickly loosen up and contour to your feet and walking pattern.I have a full-on “D” width foot, the wide, rounded “toe box” gives plenty of room without any squeezing or pinching of my toes, plenty of room to move and wiggle them in the boot. This was a critical feature for me, and the manufacturer did a great job designing this into the boot. Even on steep down hill grades my toes are comfortable.Lastly, I found that lacing them all the way up provided me with greater comfort, control and performance, especially on steeper downhill grades with various sizes of pebbles and rocks…very little if any ankle stress. Great support for the balls of my feet as well.Very pleased with this purchase. I believe I will get years of great service…well worth the price.
I work as a delivery driver for a company that sells all kinds of items to businesses. I load and unload pallets of copy paper, stretch film for shipping. These boots have excellent grip, a comfortable fit, and are good protection against the hazards I face to my feet. That all being said I recommend getting some pine tar sealer and ordering these a little bigger than your normal shoe. If you need tough boots for your hunting, hiking, or work these are a very good choice.
These are the only boots my fiance will wear to work! Their great quality and comfortable for him
First off, let me tell you how hard it is to find such a quality product like RedWing for under $100. I read the reviews and saw that many found the fit to be a bit smaller than expected. I usually wear a size 11, but the 10.5 M was listed at $90 when the 11's were priced at $118. Unfortunately, I was working with that $100 budget and with Amazon's ease of returns, decided to bite the bullet and see. I first noticed when slipping my fit into the boot that the length was perfect. I was expecting my toe to touch but it did not. That said it was very snug and I feel that most of the reviews stating smaller than expected was due to this. The leather is tight and not very forgiving at first - at first. And here lies the advantage of a tight fitting boot made of quality leather... After just days of wearing them, the leather has formed a PERFECT fit around my feet. I have never felt more confident in support and protection and I can not think of a more comfortable wear. WOW. Honestly it feel as if I put my feet in the air and a cordwainer crafted the specimen around my feet. Try for yourself. If you are disappointed - send them back! I bet most will agree though.
They run about 1 full size small
I've bought multiple sets of these boots for work. They give you the comfort and quality that you would expect from a red wings product. I will continue to buy these as needed.
