When it comes to choosing the right hunting boot, comfort and durability are paramount. The Irish Setter Gunflint II excels in both areas. The removable polyurethane footbed provides exceptional comfort, allowing for extended wear during those long days in the field. The EVA midsole lightens the overall weight of the boot while delivering impressive underfoot cushioning that absorbs shock effectively.
The boot's waterproof capability is another significant advantage. With its full-grain leather and specially constructed nylon upper, you can trust that your feet will stay dry no matter how wet the environment becomes. This is particularly valuable during hunting trips where treks through marshes or streams are commonplace.
Insulation is key, especially in colder climates. The Gunflint II features 1000g of 3M Thinsulate Ultra insulation, which strikes a balance between being lightweight and offering substantial warmth without bulkiness. Whether it's frigid temperatures or damp conditions, your feet will remain warm and protected.
One aspect that cannot be overlooked is the traction provided by the Bulls-Eye Air Bob Carbon Rubber outsole. Its aggressive lug pattern grips uneven surfaces confidently, giving you the stability needed when navigating challenging terrains. Whether you're hiking up a steep incline or trekking through thick brush, these boots will keep you steady on your feet.
With Goodyear Welt construction, not only do these boots resist water intrusion, but they also boast increased durability and the option for resoling, extending their lifespan significantly.
In summary, the Irish Setter Gunflint II Men's Waterproof Hunting Boot is an excellent investment for any serious hunter or outdoor enthusiast looking for a reliable, comfortable, and durable boot. While there may be minor considerations regarding sizing and bulkiness, the overall performance makes it a top contender in the market.

Got these for the cool season. Read a few reviews speaking to tight ankle and being difficult to put on (narrow ankle). I wear a 11.5 and that is what I ordered. They fit perfectly with a little room for warm socks.. The ankle area is a bit narrow so you really need to loosen the laces and open the boot up to get foot in @ first. However I like the snug fit around the ankles as it keeps the heat in the toebox/foot area. I also suggest breaking in by wearing around the house. The ankle area fit is a bit tight and will need break in period. I put on for 30 minutes really tight day one, then over the next few days added time and cycled between lacing up really tight to lacing up loosely. After about 2 weeks feel much better with normal lace tightness. Its a bit easier to get foot in the boot after break in too. Also, I don't seem to need to tighten them up too tight as the slimmer fit in the ankle and heal seem to keep them in place and keep the heat in the foot area. they have great sole with an awesome cant (angles) that you can really feel as you hike in them. Great, grippy sole, foot and ankle support. I am really pleased with them as I got them on sale around 140.
They fit me really well and it's sometimes hard to find a 13 wide boot but these fit perfectly and are extremely durable and very warm. Because I live in the Northeast the state of Maine to be precise and these boots are very warm, durable, and lightweight what more can you ask for THANKS MUCH PAUL TAV SEMPER FI STAY SAFE.
You can not get your foot in the boot. There is not enough room in the front of the boot for your arch, to bend, and slide on down into the boot. This is the second model I’ve tried, and the other model was the same. I could not get my foot in the boot.
Be aware that these are at least a half size smaller than indicated there's somewhat limited toe room with them and if you don't get a wider size and you would probably normally wear in a in a good work boot you won't be able to get any insoles into them. I really like the quality of them, but because they're a little bit tight on my foot I bought two pairs one larger than the other the second time around. They're more for me (because they fit a little too tight) a casual winter boot..... if I had the wider size and could get a thicker felt insole into them, I would feel they were a better cold weather boot for me. I gave them 5 stars because if they fit correctly they would definitely be a five-star boot.
Have used these several times hunting now and they have been great for traction and ruggedness so far.Complaints:- The left boot has a pinch point on my inner ankle when tied tightly. I leave them loosely tied for more comfort.- My feet still get cold in freezing temperatures, even with two pairs of wool socks, a warmer inner liner is needed.- The right pull strap snapped, I did pull pretty hard on it while putting them on. Needs more reinforcement cause these boots are tight to put on at the upper ankle area.
I bought these 4 hunting seasons ago (just starting my 5th). I hunt 10/1 thru 12/31 so i get all conditions - sun, rain, sleet, snow. I followed the reviews and got 1/2 size bigger than normal, and the fit is perfect. These are by far the most comfortable boots i have ever worn. They are also very sure footed and stable. They are quite warm, so much so i don't wear them until the temps drop into the 40s or lower. The oiled leather portions of the boot are well scuffed up, but not worn. They are still waterproof, although i bought some camp dry this year just in case its needed. I replaced the laces last year. All eyelets and lace hooks are still tight and in tact. Sole shows no considerable wear, unlike my motorcycle boots which have a lot of wear, but that is because those get worn on concrete and the only concrete my hunting boots see is in my garage. If/when these ever wear out i will get another pair of the same boots if they are still available.
Nice
