The Irish Setter Ely Men's 6" Waterproof Soft Toe Work Boot is designed for those who demand both comfort and protection on the job. Crafted from high-quality full grain leather, this boot promises durability and a watertight experience that will keep your feet dry in various working conditions.
With an emphasis on safety, the Ely meets ASTM F2892-18 EH safety standards, providing electrical hazard resistance that is essential for certain job sites. The soft toe design allows for flexibility while still offering ample protection against common workplace hazards.
Boot Model | Waterproof | Electrical Hazard | Weight |
---|---|---|---|
Irish Setter Ely | Yes | Yes | Lightweight |
Carhartt 6" Waterproof Soft Toe Boot | Yes | Yes | Medium |
Timberland Pro 6" Soft Toe Boot | No | Yes | Heavyweight |
When it comes to performance, the Irish Setter Ely stands out for its robust waterproofing and durable construction. The UltraDry technology ensures your feet remain dry even in the most challenging conditions, making these boots a reliable choice for outdoor jobs.
Comfort is another area where these boots excel. The removable polyurethane footbed and non-metallic composite shank work together to provide excellent underfoot comfort and support, resulting in reduced fatigue throughout the day. You’ll appreciate the lightweight nature of the boot, which allows you to move freely without being weighed down.
While the soft toe design offers some flexibility, it might not be suitable for those who require a sturdier toe cap for heavy-duty applications. Additionally, the limited color options could be a drawback for users looking for more style variety. Nevertheless, if you need a dependable work boot that merges comfort, durability, and safety features, the Irish Setter Ely is undeniably a strong contender.

I usually get 2 years out of these boots . I work in the fuel industry and have had no issues outside of normal wear . Very comfortable . Wore red wings until the price got too high . Same quality but more comfortable right out of the box .
They are very comfortable and i wear them for work and school
Dang Fine Boots !!! Very comfortable and worth a try. They have that nice partially broken in feeling when you try them on. I have worn Diehards, Timberlands, Red Wings, LaCrosse, Caterpillar,... a whole slew of boots... and these are a very welcomed pair. I have been wearing these for 9 months now and they are holding up very well. I chose to not wear these to work as they are very comfortable and I was looking for a sturdy house boot. I wear them almost every day. The rubber on them is much softer than a Vibram sole and that makes a huge difference in the comfort. The inside heel material is wearing through, as all my boots do, but it is a largely unnoticeable thing for me... no discomfort. The soles are in fantastic shape for having a 300lb laborer in them. I am not a heel dragger either. I will definitely be buying another pair before I wear these out... They Are Worth IT !!!
I can't really say anything about these because they came small. I rated them as fit as expected because I ordered a half size small because a few comments said they run large. IMO they do not run large at all. They run normal sized. If I had ordered the correct size I'm sure they would have fit well. They seemed very comfortable, but were just too small. I sent them back and bought a pair of Wolverines from a local dealer. I'm giving these 4 stars because I think they're good boots, though I have no idea as to their durability or anything like that. I'm only making this rating to warn people to order their correct size with these boots and they should fit as expected.
Fit was great, they are comfortable on the first wear. There was a little pinching from the tongue for a few days until completely broken in.
Comfotable
My last pair were very comfortable. My new pair, same size and with are not. Looking at the foot bed with the inserts removed it is apparent that they were assembled differently. Do I exchange them or buy different boots?
This is my second pair. The first pair lasted me nearly 3 years. I wear these to work 5-6 days a week. Worth the money for quality made product. Took longer than originally stated it would to get to me, but it may have had something to do with all the Christmas deliveries.
