The Irish Setter Ashby Men's 6" Soft Toe Work Boot is a commendable option for those seeking a blend of durability and comfort in their work apparel. The use of oiled full grain leather not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also significantly contributes to its ability to withstand daily wear and tear. With a focus on comfort, the removable polyurethane footbed ensures that your feet remain cushioned throughout long working hours, catering to professionals who prioritize day-long usability.
From a safety perspective, the boot's adherence to ASTM safety standards provides peace of mind, particularly in environments where electrical hazards are a concern. The soft toe design is beneficial for those who require flexibility and less bulk without sacrificing necessary protection for lighter workloads. However, for individuals needing more robust impact protection, exploring steel-toe alternatives may be advisable.
Another notable feature is the resoleable construction, which means you can extend the lifespan of these boots significantly. This aspect makes them an economically wise investment over time. The heat resistant sole is particularly advantageous for those working in high-temperature conditions, allowing you to focus on your tasks without the worry of damage to your footwear. Overall, the Irish Setter Ashby stands out as a reliable work boot that balances comfort, safety, and durability.

Worth every penny. My current boots(Rockys) were hurting my feet on concrete all day. These boots have been wonderful, no pain. Broken in 1/2 way through the first day of wearing. I don't think I'll be trying out any other brands for a good long while. Seem very durable and i do believe they'll last a while. Did I mention how good looking they are?
Most comfortable boots I have ever worn I got a wide lots of toe room I've had lots of boot Danners, timberland pro I loved the pros but for me these are boots rank 1
Was very skeptical of this satellite brand of Red Wings but for $155 I figured I'd give them a shot.I can't tell the difference lol. They feel like regular red wings with a dog on them. Same comfortable feel, sharp looking, so far very durable. Not seeing alot of downsides at the moment.I guess time will tell how long they last but for $100+ price difference it doesn't really matter as much atleast to me.Hope this helped, buying boots sucks these days so I figured I'd give my two cents.
I have worn this style Irish Setter Boot since I was a young boy back in the early 60's.They have been & still are the same high quality, good fitting & great traction boot for all applications.Big Fan of Irish Setters & Always Will Be - Good Stuff.....
Pretty comfortable. A bit stiff at first. After about a two week break in they softened up a bit and we’re a lot more comfortable. Not a fan of the laces that come in them, they seem like they’re a little brittle and not quite long enough. Overall they’re pretty good boots.
My fiancé loves these shoes. He always has a work pair and a nice pair. We will continue to buy these for me.
So far so good, only been wearing them a few days now so my feet are still getting used to the support level, moved from a hiking type shoe to a work boot hoping to get better support and longevity. The leather is surprisingly soft and pliable right out of the box, they fit well, and they look nice. Had a 12 hour day in them yesterday and my feet weren't the sorest part of my body (walk around on hard surfaces average 7-10 miles a day). If they maintain comfort and hold up, the four star may become a five.Update: 6 months in the four star did become a 5 star. These seem to get more comfortable every day, the leather is pretty supple now, and other than having to get one of them stretched to accommodate a large foot, which is hardly the boots fault, they've been great. Just clean and oil them every three months or so, takes 10 minutes and it keeps the leather from drying out and water resistant. They also look brand new every time you're done, been using the sofsole mink oil, works really well.UPDATE:I've had these boots for about 8 months now and they have broken in very nicely. I did have to get one of them stretched a little (left foot is wider than my right foot), but that was no big deal. I walk around on hard surfaces all day (7-9 miles a day) and these boots have kept my feet in pretty good shape. They are getting close to needing a re-sole and I will definitely do that as opposed to getting a new pair, even thought the price isn't that different the leather has gotten so soft and supple I don't want to get rid of them. I find if you oil them regularly (1-2 months) they stay looking pretty new and supple. Great boot, going to get another pair for my camping and fishing trips.
Nice boots,lm very pleased with them.
