Just came off an OCR-mudder in the high desert of California. 1st let me say WOW!!! These shoes were perfect for the course. Mud Mud and more Mud. No clumping what so ever. Lots and lots of water NO problem. This is my 7th race this year but first time for these shoes. Top 10 ten finish and could not have done this without the shoes. I have also taken these shoes on miles and miles of just regular runs to make sure blistering was not a problem. Guess what Not a problem. When they fit there is No breaking in period. Ok so now lets talk about potential issues: Size? there is a lot of talk about the shoes running small. I wear an 11 to 11 1/2 in just about all shoes. So I ordered a size 12 due to all the people saying order a 1/2 to full size bigger. Had to return them. The 11 1/2 fit perfectly on the re-order. My wife however is a perfect 7 1/2 womens and had to wear a full size larger (see the chart on official site). Because these shoes are unisex this is what I suggest. Men go 1/2 size larger if over a 10 - women go full size if over between 6 and 9. Return policy is great - order them a few weeks before you race. In conclusion 3 more races this year Vegas Tough mudder in October 10+ miles, California Spartan in December and local no name - Will compete in Vegas with these shoes. Note: I have no affiliation or sponsorship of any kind with this product (although I would like one). These shoes will be an asset to your collection. Hope this helps someone in their buying decision process. Good luck to all OCR brothers and sisters.
I'm in love with these shoes! However, I made the mistake of ordering 2 pair: one 1/2 size larger and another 1 size larger, and they were huge! So I ordered my size (the size I wear w/ Nike road shoes) and they fit great.I just got back from Tough Mudder and these shoes performed great! I slid slightly twice, while everyone else was sliding all over the place. This allowed me to pass a lot of runners as they were concerned about finding the driest path to run. The shoes are tight, which took a little getting used to but after leaving a mud pit and seeing other runners stop to empty rocks from their shoes, I'm happy mine were tight.Last week was the first week I ran in these shoes for a Bonefrog race and I always double-knot my laces. Well when I was done, the double-knot was out of both shoes. I may want to triple-knot them for longer races. Finally, the price can't be beat. Most other OCR shoes are $100 more than these! For $70-$80, they can't be beat.
The show is on the slim side. The lugs are bigger. This shoe does best in sloppy trail running conditions. Appear durable.
I had been wanting try this line since I am a big extreme trail runner. The shoe is absolutely perfect for my style of activity, perfect fit, excellent land grip, light weight and stylish. Definitely recommend to any off road runner.
They were very tight on my feet and hurt my right heel a bit when I walk. Returned them and bought a half size up. I'll revise this review after competition day where I will have taken them through the mud.
Love almost everything about this shoe. Traction on grass or dirt tracks is as stated, mudclaw.I wear it for my walks, I don't jog.The feel is nice and soft, much like walking over the tender moss on the Scottish mountains.Only thing as mentioned by someone, can be slightly slippery on tiles as it is not designed for such. So watch out if you're wearing it for general stuff.Well conducted shoes.Way better than the On Cloud Surfer I bought together.
Wears a little tight across the foot, buy at least half size larger, nice shoe, lasts about 7-12 months befor the sole/ kleets get waivery/ flimsy
Great purchase! Definitely true to size and fits like a glove. I’ve gotten many compliments & have worn them once, so far, during OCR training and the grip at the bottom helps tremendously. I purchased the quick tie laces separately (also a great purchase & perfect match), and will be wearing these for an upcoming Spartan race. Fingers grossed all goes well! 🤞🏼
