The IMPACT (M) 001 - Black 9 is more than just a winter boot; it's an essential companion for outdoor enthusiasts who thrive in harsh conditions. With its robust design, this boot features either suede or leather around the instep and ankle area, providing both style and functionality. Equipped with a bungee toggle snow collar, it ensures that winter elements stay outside, allowing you to enjoy your adventures without discomfort.
This boot excels in extreme climates thanks to heavy-duty cold insulation and a wind-proof nylon upper. It incorporates double buckles and a waterproof base paired with a Gelflex midsole, which enhances comfort further. The 8-layer removable inner lining made from Thermaplush offers incredible warmth, while the foam insole provides additional cushioning.

The Baffin IMPACT (M) 001 - Black 9 stands out in terms of performance. Its unique hybrid style merges innovative molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, ensuring that you gain maximum warmth and comfort even in severe winter conditions. This boot's design allows the sole and midsole to be molded into one continuous piece, which not only improves durability but also enhances grip on icy surfaces.
In addition to its impressive insulation abilities, the textured rubber outsole offers excellent traction, which is crucial when navigating snowy or slippery terrains. Comfort is further amplified by the cushy foam insole and the easy-to-adjust buckle system, making it user-friendly for all kinds of winter activities—from hiking to snowshoeing.
However, it's worth noting that the increased insulation and sturdy design contribute to a heavier overall weight, which may not suit those looking for a lighter option. Nonetheless, if you prioritize warmth and protection over weight, the IMPACT (M) 001 - Black 9 could very well be your best choice for battling the elements this winter.

This is almost exactly the same boot that the US Antarctic Program supplies to Antarctic workers (they buy the Baffin leather models and this is the nylon model). I work in Antarctica and bought these boots for the -30 to -95F winter temperatures at the South Pole. In order to wear any of your own equipment in Antarctica the Field Safety people have to approve it, and they had no problem approving these boots for the coldest conditions. I've tried both the leather and nylon versions and prefer this version because it is lighter and just as warm. Also, the leather models have to be laced while these have two large snap buckles that can be manipulated even with gloves or mittens. The snaps make getting them on and off much easier. The boots are very comfortable to walk or stand in because the air-cell insulation in the sole cushions your steps. The removable insulated liners can be taken out nightly to air out and can be washed to eliminate odors which are always a problem in cold-weather boots. The top of the boot is large enough to stuff insulated pants into. The piping around the main seam is reflective material which makes you more visible at night. These boots are very well made and after one season on the ice they are still like new. I have no complaints. When I go back to the antarctic these boots are definitely going with me.Be warned, these boots are BIG. Don't even think about driving a car while wearing them. But if you are going to be outside for long periods in moderately cold conditions (0 to -40F) your feet will stay warm all day in these boots. If you are in seriously cold conditions (-80F to -100F) they will keep your feet warm for several hours - which is as good or better than any boot you can buy.In summary - a top flight extreme cold weather boot used by the experts.
These boots are warm, very comfortable, excellent ankle support, great height, pretty lightweight for their size, and maybe a wee bit smaller than standard sizing and were too small for my feet. They're wonderful! I have a pair one size larger. They arrived in excellent condition with excellent packaging!
I live in a place where our winter temperatures reach -60F (-51C), so I don't mess around when it comes to winter gear.I got these boots recently and decided to try them out when our temperatures hit single digits (0 - 10F), and sadly, had to take them off again. Why? Because they're TOO warm for comfort right now (they are rated to -148F / -100C, so I suppose I should have expected that). I'll definitely be taking these back out when the temperatures hit below -20F and giving them another shot (and will update the review), but until then I'll have to stick with the Baffin Mountains (only rated to -76F / -60C) which have a very similar fit.For me, I had to go up a size on the fit (usually 11 shoes/boots, went up to 12 and they're a great fit). According to the sizing, they say to take out the liners to size the boots, since they will morph to your feet, and should be snug. The boots are easy to slip on and off, but because of the foam lining fit snugly. You don't have to spend a lot of time getting them on, but you don't have to sacrifice warmth for the trade off. At the top there is a nice pull cord so you can slip your pants/jeans/whatever under them and snug them up, acting like gators to keep the snow out. The boots are quite a bit bigger than the Baffin Mountain style though, to the point that I'm not really comfortable driving with them, but I know if I break down mid winter I won't have a problem walking for miles in them. They're comfortable (very), have great grips, solid craftsmanship, and boy are they warm. No loss of toes here.Buy these if you plan to spend extended time outside in below zero weather with very little activity, or if you have extreme circulation problems such that no other boot has been able to keep you warm before. Otherwise, if it doesn't drop to 0 or below (minimum), you may want to consider one of the lesser rated Baffin models. Seriously, these are extreme boots.
Very comfortable very hot good quality
I love my new men's size 11 Baffin Impact Snow Boots - they exceed my expectations. I bought them specifically to use in deep, drifted snow in sub-zero weather to feed horses. The nylon snow collar that pulls tight against my leg to keep deep snow from falling inside of the boots is well made. No question they will be warm enough. I tried them on in the house to see how they mold to my foot, and found them to be comfortable. I am impressed with the quality of the materials used to cover the padded/insulated lining, so expect a lot of wear time before the material starts to falter. The tread on the bottom concentrates my weight into contact points with the ice - increasing the pressure, so I don't expect to slip around on the ice as much. With only 2 buckles to tighten the boot around my leg/ankle, they are easy and fast to slip on and off. I wear a size 10 men's shoe, so ordered the size 10 snow boots originally, but found the boots to be a bit too tight. I ordered the next size up - size 11, and they fit perfect, so my recommendation is to buy the next size up, as the sizes tend to run small. But the most amazing "user experience" of this entire purchase is how easy and painless it was to exchange the size 10 boot for the size 11, and it cost me absolutely nothing to send them back. All I can say is that Amazon has incredible customer service. I let Amazon know I needed to exchange, printed the return UPS label and return authorization, and dropped the boots off at a UPS pickup location. My new boots were already on the way, even before I had the return label printed - it took only 4 days to get the new boots. I received them one day after I dropped off the size 10 boots at the UPS store. I give the boots and entire "user experience" 10 stars out of 5. The quality of the Baffin Impact Show boots exceeds what I expected to find, expecially for the price I paid through Amazon. I would buy these boots again, although I think they will outlast me. I expect to get many years of service from these boots.
