I’ve worn Haflingers for years and they are so comfortable and perfect for foot, knee or back problems. I have all of the above because I worked in bedside nursing for more than 30 years. There is no break-in period EVER. Wear them for 12 hours straight out of the box. I have a higher arch so I’m not sure how they would work with a low or no arch foot. I’m pretty hard on shoes and they feel great even at 1.5 years. What happens is the rubber sole wears away down to the cork eventually and then they get recycled to yard shoes. Buy with confidence!
I love Haflingers. A few years ago my doctor sent me to this foot to be fitted for shoes that was for my high arch. The rest is history!!!! Now these were for my husband and he loves the way they help his feet, back, and hips, here’s the kicker, he has flat feet! So buy these shoes for you arch, heal, or flat feet. Really, these will be great for any feet!
These are nice shoes but they are huge. I wear a size 8 but I probably had 1.5" inches out past my toes. They sent size 39.

These were purchased for my wife. She was replacing two previous pairs of Haflingers, women's size 43 (marked on the soles of the shoes). The sizes shown for these did not include women's European sizes so we had to try and figure out the correct size to order. We ordered the size 12-12.5. When they arrived, the box and the shoes said they were size 44 and they were too large. We returned them and ordered the next size down, which was 11-11.5. These were, in fact, size 43 and fit well. The vendor really should provide the actual European sizing. Also, the arch support on these is not as high as the previous pairs my wife owned, though that doesn't seem to be a problem for her.
I ordered 2 pairs of these clogs. The first pair came in a generic shoe box not a Haflinger box. One of the shoes was very scuffed up on the top so I returned them. I ordered a replacement pair which also came in a generic box. This pair was also scuffed on the top of the right shoe. I decided to keep them though as they are what I want and hard to find. I feel these clogs are being marketed as original top quality clogs but are in fact seconds for the same price as the top quality ones. They are very comfy though and fit nicely.
For many years, I have worn these clogs finding the older version of this shoe to be very comfortable and a perfect fit for both work and at home. However, this newer design is not comfortable. It slips off the foot easily and the upper leather section does not cover the top of the foot [as the older design always did] offering less stability when walking. The shoe size I ordered is appropriate, but the shorter design of the upper leather section is disappointing and makes wearing the shoes difficult.
I normally love Haflinger shoes but these are a big disappointment. If I had not already worn them, I would return them.
