Detailed Review

The Georgia Boot Men's Logger 8" Black has a lot to offer when it comes to performance and style. The soft leather construction not only gives these boots a rugged look but also makes them pliable, adapting well to your foot's shape. The addition of a cushioned insole ensures that your feet remain comfortable throughout the day, absorbing shock and providing ample support.

One of the standout features is the oil-resistant rubber lug outsole. This feature is particularly important for those working in environments where spills can occur. The traction it offers means that you can confidently move across different surfaces without worrying about slipping.

Additionally, the removable polyurethane insert allows for customization – you can replace it with orthotics if needed for extra support. The speed-lacing hardware also ensures that you get a snug fit for optimal stability during your activities.

Although some users report that they need a short break-in period, the overall consensus is that these boots deliver exceptional performance in demanding conditions. If you prioritize safety, comfort, and durability, the Georgia Boot Men's Logger 8" Black should be on your list of considerations.

Just the other day I purchased the 10 2E and they fit nice, very comfortable

I have been wearing Georgia Boots for many years. I have had them with insulation without insulation, steel toe, soft toe. Recently I purchased a pair 9.5 E, because I have a few others that were that size, but the last 9.5 E size were too tight. I could not even wear them. I am going to give them to someone. Just the other day I purchased the 10 2E and they fit nice, very comfortable. If I need them tighter I just tie them tighter. It looks like they took care of the slightly weak heel with a new type of stitching , it looks like a much better design. They are a very tough boot, sometimes a little slow to break in however I am forever jumping down from things, and climbing ladders into strange places. So I often get turned on the ladder or have to turn on the ladder. And these boots do protect your ankles when something goes wrong, for sure. I started wearing Georgia boots because the timberlands were too soft and did not protect my ankle. I am sure because I dislocated my ankle once in a pair of Timberlands. That just does not happen with the Georgia boots.I did have a problem with one other pair of Georgia boots about three years ago, the leather in the back of the boot started pulling off the heel. But I did get it caught very well, and I did put a lot of force on it, to get it out quickly. So all things considered it protected my foot during a rather bad accident very well, it basically gave its life to protect my foot. I kept them as an incase of emergency pair, I am going to throw them out now that I have these and two other good pair.Sincerely,William McCormick

Great for the money

I bought these because I didn’t wanna pay $600 plus for Nick’s hand made logger boots.Theses have been on my feet every day for about a month now and they are holding up pretty good. I work in hvac and do a lot of bending/crouching with my feet sand they haven’t cracked or came apart.Fairly water resistant and comfortable once broken in. Would definitely buy another pair at this price point ($140)

Surprisingly Comfortable

Well these were an emergency purchase (needed boots now as opposed to later, the case with the better boots). I am a Forester and basically spend every workday on my feet in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and almost never on a trail. In case your imagination is failing you, this is hard on boots. I had low expectations for these boots given their low price and country of origin; but I was very surprised by their comfort level (that's with my feet, more than a little like Fred Flintstone's). Comfort aside they started leaking dust on the third week. When I get around to it (the better boots made their appearance -- finally) I'll give them a new coat of Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative and see if that seals them up again in which case these will make a serviceable occasional duty boot. Decent ankle support, and good traction on dry surfaces. Like most boots without caulks don't try to walk on downed trees with skinned off bark and be careful of other wet surfaces. I have no qualms recommending these as a lower cost light duty field boot, not really for hard use. As an added bonus they are actually pretty good looking for a logger style boot.Update 10/19/2020:Well, shortly after I got the better boots I got them completely covered in poison oak and being both busy and somewhat lazy I have yet to clean those boots, so I busted these back out. The Leather preservative did indeed plug up the dust leaks (right where the rivets are at the base of the tongue). They have held up well for most of the summer and fall (so far) field season, still comfortable and have held up to all of the naturally occurring "pungee" sticks and rock abrasions, A couple of the eyes are a little rough and have worn through the laces, but that's an easy and cheap fix. Very pleased for the price. Need to clean them up again and reapply the Obenauf's before wet weather shows up. Still think these are a very good choice for light/occasional duty. upping by one star.

Good quality and quick break-in

I'll use these boots for general chores around my homestead, including some fairly hard use when clearing out underbrush and trash trees for fire safety here in the western foothills of the Sierras in California. The first day I felt a little chafing on my outer ankle bones, but by the end of the second day they were completely comfortable. The only cluck I have is that the upper lacing hooks are stamped metal rather than the cast or machined kind. The stamped metal ones are susceptible to being crushed inward if something hard hits them directly, but unless it happens a lot the bent tab can be opened back up with pliers without breaking off. I'm tempted to order another pair just in case Georgia Boot decides to discontinue this model "to serve you better." Everything else about them seems to be good quality. UPDATE: I've had these boots for 2 1/2 years now, and have been using them regularly around the ranch for a variety of projects and daily chores. They're still in good condition, comfortable, have plenty of sole left, and I have to admit that my original cluck about the lacing hooks being stamped rather than cast type turns out to have been unfounded. All the hooks are in good condition and none have been deformed or broken. I'm still hoping Georgia Boot will maintain this quality so when I order a replacement pair sometime in the future I won't be disappointed by any cheapening of the materials or mfg. process. G.B., are you listening?
