Some ideas on Fitting and Safety with any New Boots

They deserve the five stars, I got them delivered for $ 88.00 in my 15 D medium size, heck of a buy. The boot is easy to break in, I used HUBERS shoe oil which soaked right in, waterproofs and lets the leather break in nicely in maybe an hour or so. Will hard wax them later, to toughen the outsides. Very comfy, the one size up is perfect for a set of my previously broken in sole inserts, and proper hiking sox. Steel toe and inner shank for motorcycle shifting, good support for walking, plus a decent lug sole for slip resistance. What's not to like so far?? Be aware that steel toes work best if you do not have "hammer toes" -- best to have a similar pair fitted so you do not have a problem with your (usually big one) toe joints hitting the metal toe cap. There are pads for the tongue to set your foot back a bit if necessary, for any boot you need help with. However, safety first -- please note that the outer welt area is wide -- like 1/4 inch, for stability. IF, like me you have foot pegs, instead of floor boards take note. I almost hooked the foot peg end, and can see this as something to consider, so maybe not the best on motorcycles. Great for back packing, reduces the chance of turned ankles in the outback, please take a second to note that extra width.I think I will add a note from yesterdays bike drop, in my own moss covered driveway here . No toe cap, or steel shank, just a good older hiking boot. I was almost stopped in a shallow turn, whoops and I was pinned by left foot on concrete drive. Humm, left boot was folded back over my toes, under the frame, very scary, and locked up fully doubled up at the toes. Helmet saved my head, gloves and armored jacket saved the rest, will get kevlar jeans next. Without decent boots, I would not be walking today, guaranteed. It took 20 minutes to work out from under the bike a bit "shakey" but no damage, left knee got a "Ben-Gay" patch and elastic wrap. Lesson renewed, you need good boots to be able to walk away from a fall. Metal on boot, don't know !! Maybe the steel shank would have stopped toe folding part. However, if sliding on asphalt, that steel toe cap could save toes, barely moving I got sorta pinned down a bit -- without foot damage in this case I take the position that most foot damage, work or play, is from less protection, not more. I will vote for the steel toes, and shank here -- but NEVER, EVER, EVER, RIDE OR PLAY WITHOUT PROPER FOOT GEAR. You need to be able to ESCAPE from crash, or disaster areas..Look at the fit details others have done, and a few more here. I got fitted at a boot shop, the old mechanical slider scale. Then at a shoe store with the electronic walk on machine. Now I know exactly where my foot fits in size and width. Since these on order are steel toed, I figured up a bit ( for me I used one full size up ) to allow for the extra insert types, or a higher arch insert, to do final adjustments on foot bed comfort. Extra room is not a bad thing, if you want an all purpose bike boot, and a good hiker. When it comes to hiking, the water proofing is an issue for some. I just get a good brand of sealant, and treat every new boot, right out of the box. Warm the boot, and wear it after treatment so the stuff sinks in. That way the leather softens, and the whole boot gets broken in to fit your foot closer. It makes it easier to avoid hot spots, seam leaking, and cracking with a bit of seasonal leather care, on new boots. The lower heel is better for motorcycles, I had some boots with a new Vibram higher heeled "cowboy" boot, that hooked the peg at a stop light.. Now I would belt sand the heel edges, and round off the arch area of soles, to prevent catching on pegs. I also carry a Sharp knife to cut laces, if I MUST escape from the boot in traffic or fire situations, I like a folding, over four inch camp type, with a case to reach the laces.I also looked a boots costing way more, with mesh, plastic, zippers and other ideas. I considered going to a lower summer boot, but when the road curves I would like my feet to be able to have a fighting chance to not get turned into putty. Some things are just not worth the "sin of omission", like good boots. I will try to add notes after they get here, some of these notes might help any boot buyer get a better fit -- saved me about half of $$ from our local outdoor boot store.Pretty lengthy, but that is all about being prepared eh ??Keep on truckin' --- C. drake

Awesome. Very, very happy with these boots.

When I first received these boots I was worried that they were too tall for my liking. I started wearing them and realized they were perfect.I did a lot of research before I actually bought these because I wanted to make sure I would be able to use them and like the way they look for a very long time. For whatever reason, it was difficult to find very much information on these boots but I'm really, really happy I ended up going with these.PROS:- Beautiful design. The leather looks great, the laces look awesome, the sole is comfortable and incredibly durable, the stitching is strong. All of it looks great and is manufactured very well. This is not a cheaply put together boot.- I wore these through the entire winter and I didn't notice much wear and tear. The boots didn't stain from salt and they keep snow out flawlessly.- They look great with pretty much all of my pants that are not suit/dress pants.- I literally feel like a giant when I where them.CONS:- If I had to put something here I would say that lacing them is a bit annoying but it really only takes ~20-30 seconds longer than a normal shoe or boot would take to tie.

Great boots

The boots fit just as expected. They are very well made and the fact they have hooks at the top make them easy to put on and take off. They are comfortable to walk in and very light weight. I would recommend these boots.

Great looking, comfortable yet durable as hell. What more can you ask for in boots

4th pair of Georgia Giants and these are some of the best boots on the market. Considering price you cannot go wrong with these beauties. My opinion these are some of the most comfortable an durable for the price. Buy a pair of gel inserts an waterproof 2 times each year an they hold up to all the elements.

Protects from the Outside, Bites from the Inside

The boots were sized correctly for my feet, but the steel toe in the right boot rubbed painfully against my big toe. I returned the steel toed pair for the same size in non-steel toe version of the same boot and they fit fine.
