they are very soft and comfortable
On a recommendation from a friend, I ordered 2 pairs of Gentle Souls. One pair was too tight across the base of my toes on both shoes. The second was too tight across the base of my toes on the left foot and too loose on the heel of the right.They seemed to be well made and soft. However, they were not for me.
I needed a comfortable all-day work shoe that did not look too casual. This shoe looked nicely styled combined with with a comfortable foot bed & sole. I do not know how they managed this, but the shoe is painfully uncomfortable - the interior foot bed is oddly built up around the edges & the center is lower than the edges. Ouch. The toe box is too narrow altogether & can't stretch or give because it is sewn to the foot bed part of the toe box which is also narrow, but then the rest of the shoe kind of flops off your foot as you walk. I wear 6.5 to 7, medium width shoe, generally.I requested this shoe as a gift and simultaneously ordered a pair myself not knowing if I would receive the gift pair - I subsequently received both gift and purchase pairs. After wearing the gift pair, I returned the (unworn) purchased pair.I do not recommend this shoe.
