I don’t usually write reviews, but I was just recommending these boots to a couple buddies, and felt compelled to write this.Owned for 4 years now. These are the best boots I’ve owned. I’ve done hundreds of miles of heavy rucking in these boots. Did the Bataan and Norwegian multiple years with dozens of training rucks in between.Couple things to note:1. GET THE WIDE version (unless you have very narrow feet). They run narrow. I took a recommendation from a buddy who is a monster Rucker. He told me get the wide. He was right. They fit perfect from day 1.2. Bypass the metal eyelets on the side with your laces. I initially laced them using the side eyelets. The first few rucks I did, they put way too much pressure on the tops of my feet. Once I bypassed the metal eyelets, they were perfect.3. I have owned these for 4 years and have worn them daily for work (Army) in addition to rucking—in the field, summer, winter, rain, snow, mud, dust, etc. They are still in excellent condition. No sole separation, original laces, all stitching perfect.4. Extremely light and comfortable. I have never needed to use aftermarket sole inserts or anything.5. I used to struggle with sole imbalance on some of the heavier soled army issue boots. I would experience uneven wear on the outer heel. That has not been an issue with these boots. I don’t know if it is because they “fixed” my stride due to their excellent construction or what, but take that for what it is. No uneven wear on the soles.I will be replacing them soon with another pair because after 4 years the soles are a little worn down. Not nearly as much as you would think, but it is probably time for another pair.
The Garmont boots are lightweight, comfortable and durable. Like any boots they need to be broken in, but once they are they are solid. I have put over 20miles of rucks, and days of duty use one these and so far no complaints. The break in period has its moments, and I was a little hesitant but once I had put a few miles on them, got them soaked, cleaned them up everything was good to go. I would recommend these for anyone that needs a set of boots for long ops, rucks or just for work days. Worth the price, worth the break in time, overall great lightweight combat boots!
I'm 67 years old I have had many many pairs of boots in my life time in the Navy and the nat.guard and my career as a truck driver.these are the most comfortable and well made boot I've ever had.
I'm in the US Army so I hear a lot about boots. Nike, standard issue, under armour, Oakley, and Garmonts, oh my! People have a pretty favorable view of these boots and for good reason.Pros:- GREAT for running.- Very comfortable, definitely can be worn every day.- Everything you could need in a boot pretty much.I would highly recommend getting this boot even with the cons, but if one of them is a hard no for you, maybe reconsider. For example, if you're going to Ranger school you might not want these because of how slowly they dry.Cons:- Dry verrrryyy slowlyyy- Very long break in process, like 40+ miles- Not the best laces. If you're regularly in brush the laces will get ripped up.Overall very happy with these and well worth the cost if it makes you a more effective soldier. I've heard they're very durable and last years, but after only 2 months of use I can only say they're great so far.
These boots have great construction. They are very light and the insole is incredibly comfortable. I assume they would hold up very well around the office and on road marches, and the occasional off road ruckmarch. However, the ankle hook eyelets with bearings severely pinched my ankles, even when adjusting the lacing to skip them, which kind of defeats the purpose. Based on their popularity it’s likely a unique situation based on my anatomy. I tried switching to the wide size, but it didn’t fix the problem. I would still rate them pretty high because I could tell they would be a fantastic boot if not for my weird feet. The toe box feels more narrow than the BIFIDA, so you might need to go with a wider size.
Thanks to the technologies used, the shoes are very light and comfortable. Moreover, thanks to the materials used and the cut of the shoes, they adapt to the shape of the feet. The effect is astonishing: it seems as if you are wearing running shoes😃! I sincerely recommend it! The Garmont company can make very good shoes.
Lasted me the longest and would have lasted me longer if I had taken better care of them. Great for garrison and the field, not so much for long ruck marches. Dry relatively fast and breathable.
These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I bought them for my daily walking regimen and have kept them on the whole day with zero discomfort. Wonderful product.
