These boots are actually pretty nice. They fit a little big (I wear a size 12 and the Large size fits about like a 12 1/2 or 13 on me) but for what they are (costume boots) they work really well. I got them to complete my renaissance outfit and they look great with my overall costume. I have yet to wear them for a full event, but I don't foresee a problem with them. The quality was apparent out of the box and the boot covers fit around my calf very well (and I'm a pretty big guy at a hair under 300lbs). One small issue is that the straps - being decorative - are on the outside of the boot. Meaning you have to strap them blind. Not an issue if you're used to that kind of thing, but be careful of that when buying these. Overall, a wonderful set of costume boots, especially for outdoor events like SCA and renaissance festivals...just don't get them for everyday use.
Boots, no matter what kind or type, have always made my feet hurt after a long time wearing them. So I use arch supports no matter what kind they are, especially if I'm planning on wearing them for more than a few hours. That said, these boots are quite nice and fit the purpose I have for them, which is for use in a fantasy costume. The quality of the materials appear to be pretty good, but I haven't had any major brushes up against the sidewalk or walls yet so I don't know how well they'll hold up in the long-term or if they will scuff easily. But they don't appear to do so, so far, therefore I'm not very concerned about this. For now, they seem to be working out well. The size fits quite well for me with no evidence of slipping or sliding of my feet as I walk.I also like the fact that the top pieces can be removed and the boots can be worn as ankle-high boots too. This is also good for me as I wanted a pair of boots that I could use for more than my fantasy costume, but that could also cross over into everyday, real-world use as I desired.Overall, I like the boots, their color and quality, and was also very pleased with the customer service I received from this company. On the first delivery I got the wrong pair of boots. But I quickly contacted the company and within 2-3 hours after my original email was swiftly responded to with a promise to correct the mistake. Within a 48-hr period the right set of boots was shipped to me and I received them promptly and on time four days later as specified. This encourages me to do business with this company again as I already have my eye on a second pair of boots that the company also sells. This kind of attention to quality service is appreciated.
I ordered 10-11 M US and fit perfect no problem and had a little bit of room so 11 would work. I personally am a 10.5....if your a ten wear thicker socks or double up, they will work too. Remember these are for suiting up that being said quality is better than average and they are pretty cool.I would think they would last more than a a few events. In fact would be worth spraying a coat of crep on them. crep protect works great. also wanted to see how comfortable so have been wearing last hour around house they are not bad in that department either. If the situation requires a long stint you could easily slide in a gel insole etc. the boots are a 2-part system, meaning each boot is two pieces. At first I was like "what" but actually works in favor because you can make modifications easier if needed.
I am in a financial pinch and sought out some cheap costume boots. I make chainmaille armor and needed black boots for my black stainless steel armor for the Renaissance festival. These fit the aesthetic I was looking for - medieval-ish with a knight/combat appeal without looking piratey. I wear a size 10US in most cases and have wider feet. The size 10-11 fit me fairly well with a bit of extra room, but that's what you get with stretch size costume boots. The material is fairly thin; it feels like it is durable but I could easily see the outer coating wearing off within 6months to a year with occasional use. The boots didn't look quite like the photo. The distressing seemed a bit too uniform and the spats sit far lower on the toe than I expected.Overall, these will work for what I need until I have the few hundred gather for some custom made leather ones. They are costume boots; that's important to keep in mind. I am size 10 US, 5'10" tall and 165 pounds with an average build.
Bought as part of a costume for an upcoming theme wedding for my wifes friend. So far these boots are the only part of the experience i dont regret spending money on.-Sole is a little hard but not uncomfortable.-Very good quality for the price, made very well.-May have to put new holes in the buckles if you have a large calf.-I often wear the boot itself to work without the ankle/calf piece(which are a bit pain in the to put on without help if you're not flexible), have gotten quite a few compliments.
Extremely small and narrow! Listed as MENS and also (I purchased 13). Received a LARGE stating on box 13 in UK sizing. Since conflicting description in the fact that is states both men and conflicting also in some descriptions women, and the size in UK not US or listed as such... this is confusing. Ultimately: If you are a MAN and need size 13 US this is NOT the product for you at all and you will have to return it! I did. Literally can not get my foot into the thing at all. I do wear US Nike 13. Reebok 14 with widths varying between D and EE depending upon manufacturer. As you see, I do understand and see even US sizes and manufacturers are not universal ( as my sizes listed here show ). In this case, however, the length and particularly the width (!!!!) are nowhere near a MENS size 13 ( D is standard width for men ). This MUST be women's and and much smaller UK width than even MENS in UK. My foot is literally double the width and over an inch longer than will fit this boot. I also note that the return stated FREE for ANY reason on the page for purchase (return policy) and AFTER the return process it states that free returns are ONLY given for wrong or damaged item. That would need changed as the policy is not correctly stated. Since the item is incorrectly marked and wrong as a result... I don't expect to have any bearing in my return. Just a note about that is needed I feel.
