The knee-high shaft provides ample coverage while remaining versatile enough to pair with both casual and dressy outfits. The rich black leather not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also promises durability.
In terms of comfort, the medium width fits true to size, allowing for all-day wear without discomfort. However, given that these are made from high-quality leather, some users might need to allow for a break-in period before achieving optimal comfort.
The full inside zipper is a thoughtful addition, enabling you to slip the boots on and off easily, which is particularly useful during busy mornings or when you're in a rush. Additionally, the rustic detailing adds a touch of character, distinguishing these boots from more conventional styles.

I've wanted Frye boots for years. Finally found a style that would work for my lifestyle. Classy and durable. Beautiful and tough. Perfect fit. Soft leather. Going to get a Vibram sole put on them for better traction in ice. But if you're considering these, go for it. You won't be sorry. You'll be ecstatic, like me!
Great fit, gorgeous leather, beautifully made and will last forever! They do run small, so order 1/2 to one full size up, but so comfortable to wear all day.
These are classic boots. Well made. Some things to know: They run long in the foot. I ordered a 5.5 which is my usual size and there is extra room at the toe. I made them work by adding a gel arch support insole, this helps with comfort also. The heel is a nice medium height, easy to walk all day, but they are not going to make you look taller. The leather is flexible so they are comfortable from the start - ankle area flexes easily. The boots are not lined or insulated nor do they have a cushioned sole. The style is form fitting and the calf is snug. The look is sleek and tailored - classic english riding boot. I have worn them with thick fleece leggings and they zip alright, but they won't zip over corduroy pants. Plan accordingly. Overall I really like these boots. I am used to Ariat boots in western styles which are built differently. Once I added the insole on these they are as good.
I’m finally ready to write this review after having a month or two to break them in.1. Quality - superb. Genuine leather you have to break in. But these boots will last years, possibly decades if taken care of properly.2. Fit- as described. I’m 5’7” and played sports in high school. My calves are what a local shoe store called “developed” 😂 they’re 14.5/15” around. I couldn’t fit into ANY of their calf/knee-high boots. I returned Sam Edelmans because they were advertised as 14.5”, but were actually 14”. Anywho, these fit so incredibly well with socks or with skinny jeans.3. Aesthetics - gorgeous. It’s not mono-tone, lifeless leather. It’s a beautiful caramelly (I know it’s not a word but giving things good descriptions makes me happy) color. It does scratch, but all good leather does. Use a leather conditioner or wax and they’ll absorb the scratches / hide them.4. Warmth - good. Not thermally insulated, but that’s not what these boots are for. They will work wonderfully for winter/rainy days. I work in a tundra of an office and wear these during 80 degree days. Surprisingly, I don’t overheat when I venture outside on my lunch break.LOVE these boots for the quality and the price. I will only buy Frye boots from here on out. I used to buy $40 boots once a year - the kind that scratched once and were ruined because the faux leather revealed the base color beneath. It’s worth paying for one pair of boots that will last 10+ years.
Obviously received two different sizes - returning, the bottoms were worn and looked like paperOutside of boots nothing like the picture and said made in Mexico and they are made in the US & china- boots do not say Frye on them and no Frye tags or boot covers - total disappointment
My feet are somewhat wide and I usually wear 71/2 or 8. I ordered an 8M. I am satisfied with the fit. In truth, at first I was worried that they would be too narrow for me, and I would have to give them up. I have been wearing them around, and they are wearing in nicely. I wore them all day yesterday including a couple of short 20-30 minute walks, and there was no discomfort. In spite of the fact that they felt narrow at the beginning, they have worn in well to accommodate my wider feet. There has been no heel slippage or rubbing. This appears to be a well made boot, though I will say that upon arrival, I noticed a missed stitch along the zipper. As they were the last pair in that size, I was loathe to send them back. I pray This does not cause me trouble later. So far, it looks like Frye is still making a decent product in spite of its hipster popularity.
I fell in love the minute I opened the box. I could smell the undeniable aroma of fine leather. Then I saw them, OMG, they are beautiful. I bought the Dark Brown Extended Calf. I purchased the 8.5, which is exactly my size, and they absolutely fit perfect! They are just under my knee cap and oh so comfortable. The nice western style heel is the perfect height, not too flat. So well crafted. I'm sure after they get worn in, they are going to be even better. I can't even express how much I love these boots!
These boots are beautiful! I had to return because the top of the calf were WAY too big. I read mixed reviews on that but had to try!! If you have a small calf/leg, do not buy. It broke my heart having to return because other than that, they were the perfect boot.
